BE CONFIDENT ABOUT YOUR DECISIONS. - AYEZ CONFIANCE EN VOS DÉCISIONS.

The most challenging thing about succeeding as your authentic self would be to set the bar too low. When your major pursuit is only to get a comfortable life for you and yours, that bar will definitely be too low for you. Shooting for that kind of low standard will stop you from ever raising the bar high enough to enable you have the type of sustainable impact that others will benefit from. Until you are able to see life beyond your immediate geographical and economic spheres, you will never be able to give yourself the permission you require to stretch yourself to the heights that are possible and available to you. This is something that is more noticeable in developing societies where most people are just struggling to survive.

When survival is the main aim of the pursuit, it becomes easy in such situations for people to look for other options. When people have alternatives, it makes it easy for them to magnify excuses. They then go for less tasking options where they do not have to start or build anything for themselves. It is less stressful and quicker to go and share from somewhere where others have done the work. This is far easier than to be part of those who are ready to roll up their sleeves to put in the blood, sweat and tears required to pursue something personal. The opportunities to create solutions are enormous in developing communities. However, the ability to see them as opportunities and not as problems is so huge that many never give them a thought. 

 If we want to be sincere with ourselves most decisions we make are based on dollars and cents not on passion and purpose. We can talk all we want about our vision but when it actually comes to facing real issues of life, our default mode is financial remunerations and stability. I have seen people constantly jumping from one ship to another and they end up calling themselves “serial entrepreneurs”. This is laughable because I know some personally and I know their decision came out of frustration and not as result of a new vision. Like we have often said, the integrity of our decisions will be tested by the hard places of life. It is alright to switch paths so long as we are honest and comfortable with our decisions.

Le plus grand défi pour réussir en restant authentique est de ne pas se fixer des objectifs trop modestes. Si votre seul but est d'assurer un confort matériel pour vous et vos proches, vos exigences seront forcément trop basses. Viser un tel niveau vous empêchera de viser suffisamment haut pour avoir un impact durable et positif sur autrui. Tant que vous n'aurez pas une vision plus large que votre sphère géographique et économique immédiate, vous ne vous autoriserez pas à vous dépasser et à atteindre les sommets qui sont à votre portée. Ce phénomène est d'autant plus visible dans les pays en développement où la plupart des gens luttent pour survivre.

Lorsque la survie est l'objectif principal, il est facile de chercher d'autres solutions. Avoir des alternatives permet de multiplier les excuses. On se tourne alors vers des options moins exigeantes, qui ne nécessitent aucun effort. Il est plus simple et plus rapide de profiter du travail déjà accompli. C'est bien plus facile que de faire partie de ceux qui sont prêts à se retrousser les manches et à s'investir pleinement pour poursuivre un projet personnel. Les opportunités de créer des solutions sont immenses dans les communautés en développement. Cependant, la capacité à les percevoir comme des opportunités et non comme des problèmes est si grande que beaucoup n'y pensent même pas. 

En toute honnêteté, la plupart de nos décisions sont motivées par des considérations financières, et non par la passion ou le sens du but. On peut parler tant qu'on veut de sa vision, mais face aux réalités de la vie, notre réflexe est de rechercher la sécurité et la rentabilité. J'ai vu des gens passer constamment d'un projet à l'autre et se qualifier d'« entrepreneurs en série ». C'est risible, car j'en connais personnellement et je sais que leur décision était motivée par la frustration, et non par une vision nouvelle. Comme nous l'avons souvent dit, l'intégrité de nos décisions sera mise à l'épreuve par les difficultés de la vie. Il est normal de changer de cap, pourvu que l'on soit honnête et en accord avec ses choix.
