IT IS STILL IMPORTANT AND FASHIONABLE. - C'EST TOUJOURS IMPORTANT ET À LA MODE.

We talk a lot about integrity but I do not believe that many people know exactly what that means. People expect it from everyone but most people do not have the very thing which they are expecting from others. People are not careful to live with integrity because life has become so superficial and it is affecting all aspects of our daily life. People make promises that they have no intentions of keeping and they do so quite comfortably. Partnerships are taken lightly and it is becoming difficult to trust people. The sad reality is that people are beginning to think that this is the new normal. 

These days, we live in a world where most people have dual personalities. Most common are the differences exhibited on and offline presentations. To make matters worse, we have AI to create our imaginary persona. So many times, you cannot know the real person until you are face to face with them and having real time interaction. Intergrity is now a very scare commodity, you have to work hard to find someone real that you can honestly work and engage with. You need to be real. It helps, because once your alternate persona is discovered it can become a snare that will result in something that you wish that you did not have to deal with. At times, it will cost you a precious opportunity. 

Are you one of those who think that integrity is old fashioned and it is smart to be able to get away with discrepancies in the way you present yourself? People have different versions for different occasions as if they are changing outfits. Real success and most of its principles have not actually changed. They remain the same old fashioned principles of hard work, honesty and excellence. People have discovered shortcuts that lead them to some sort of success but for anything sustainable and impactful, the principles are still the same. 

Society maybe evolving rapidly but we have to be careful how we respond to this phenomenon. There are behavioural changes that will never be accepted in the arenas where the things that really matter to the development of the human society are taking place. No matter how 'smart' life becomes, the very threads that weave the fabric of a successful society will remain relatively the same and integrity is one of the shiny ones.

On parle beaucoup d'intégrité, mais je ne crois pas que beaucoup de gens en comprennent vraiment le sens. On l'attend de tous, mais la plupart des gens sont loin de posséder cette qualité qu'ils exigent des autres. On néglige l'intégrité car la vie est devenue superficielle, ce qui affecte tous les aspects de notre quotidien. On fait des promesses qu'on n'a aucune intention de tenir, et ce, sans le moindre scrupule. Les partenariats sont pris à la légère et il devient difficile de faire confiance. La triste réalité, c'est que certains commencent à croire que c'est la nouvelle norme.

Aujourd'hui, nous vivons dans un monde où la plupart des gens ont une double personnalité. Le plus souvent, on observe des différences entre leur comportement en ligne et hors ligne. Pire encore, l'intelligence artificielle nous permet de créer une image de nous-mêmes. Bien souvent, on ne connaît la vraie personne qu'en la rencontrant en face à face, lors d'un échange direct. L'intégrité est devenue une denrée rare ; il faut faire des efforts pour trouver une personne authentique avec qui travailler et collaborer en toute honnêteté. Il est essentiel d'être authentique. Cela aide, car une fois votre double personnalité découvert, cela peut devenir un piège et vous exposer à des situations que vous préféreriez éviter. Parfois, cela vous coûtera une précieuse opportunité.

Faites-vous partie de ceux qui pensent que l'intégrité est démodée et qu'il est judicieux de se permettre des incohérences dans sa façon de se présenter ? On adopte différentes versions de soi-même selon les occasions, comme on change de tenue. Le véritable succès et la plupart de ses principes n'ont pas fondamentalement changé. Il s'agit toujours des mêmes principes fondamentaux : travail acharné, honnêteté et excellence. Certains ont trouvé des raccourcis qui mènent à une forme de succès, mais pour tout ce qui est durable et significatif, les principes restent les mêmes.

La société évolue peut-être rapidement, mais nous devons être prudents face à ce phénomène. Certains changements de comportement ne seront jamais acceptés dans les domaines où se jouent les enjeux essentiels au développement de la société humaine. Aussi « intelligente » que devienne la vie, les fondements d'une société prospère demeureront fondamentalement les mêmes, et l'intégrité en est un des plus précieux.
