There is a saying that one person’s
loss is the other’s gain. We can’t talk about the role the citizen plays in
nation building without mentioning the fact that citizens need to see the
deficiencies in the part of leadership as their opportunity. They have to be
able to cease the opportunity from the misbehavior on the part of leaders in
order for them to show their own leadership skills wherever the opportunities
present themselves. Every citizen is a leader in one area or another and we
must do our best to make sure that all that is within our jurisdiction runs
smoothly before we criticize whatever is wrong in general leadership. In our
various circles of influence, no matter how small, we must enable people
understand why they should contribute to the smooth running of the system. We
can’t complain when we stand by and watch those who we can influence do
something wrong while we focus on what someone in leadership is not doing.
There are some citizens who even encourage wrong behavior from those in their
circle of influence as a way of getting back at government without realizing
the fact that the citizens usually bear the brunt of wrong decisions and actions
of those in leadership. As citizens we should do all within our power to make
sure that things benefit everybody, including holding our leaders accountable. Do
not leave what you can do undone. Do have a great day!

Nous ne pouvons pas parler du rôle que joue le citoyen dans l’édification de la nation sans mentionner le fait que les citoyens doivent voir les carences du rôle de leadership comme leur chance. Ils doivent être capables de mettre fin à l'opportunité de la mauvaise conduite de la part des dirigeants afin qu'ils puissent montrer leurs propres compétences en leadership partout où les opportunités se présentent.
