BE INTENTIONAL... THOUGHTS ARE PRICELESS.
A very candid and heartfelt book written from the experience and life taught skills of the author. It is not
only an inspiration but a much needed volume of encouragement and rejuvenation of the mind and spirit.
There's never a better time to read and imbibe the contents of this book than right now. A must read!!
-Aruoriwo Ononeme.
"Many of us are too noisy or too distracted to pay attention to our thoughts until they become a real nag.
Thoughts that would have developed into wonderful ideas have been ignored because of the unnecessary chatter that we allow into our space throughout the day. In order to be productive, we have to learn to pay attention to particular thoughts that come into our minds and hold them long enough to understand what they actually mean. When we hear of inventions and ideas that change the world, it is hard to imagine that these things began in a moment as just a thought. Everything great began with what people call the “aha moment” but these moments come only to those who have a desire to do something with their gifts and talents. It is not because they are special, simply the fact they have a focus and are trying to reach a particular destination.
Intentional minds pick up on signals that others might miss because even a whisper is recognised when it is an idea with a possibility. When our minds are focused on what we can do to make a difference and make human existence better with our lives, we put ourselves in a position to receive ideas to help us achieve our objectives. We can never underestimate the power of a moment; it is all it takes to make a difference."

YOU ARE BORN TO THRIVE, NOT SURVIVE.
A Little Foreword
“..The problem is not with the opportunities, it is with our ability or inability to receive what life presents
at any given time. No matter where you live on this planet, there are always opportunities to make a
difference and add your quota to human development …”
This book is packed to the rafters with so many powerful statements, it was difficult to choose a stand-
out one, frankly!
But the above perhaps more than most, encapsulates the spirit of the text, form and message of this
incredibly motivational book.
Reading this book was a true rollercoaster ride – with all its attendant emotional ranges taking me all the
way from challenge to exhilaration, and back again, with gusto and chutzpah!
But what strikes the most is the very clever, immensely powerful perspectives the author brings to the
appreciation of challenges; she flips it from one of powerlessness, maybe hopelessness, to one
opportunity, and hope.
Then goes further to give useful insights on concrete practical baby steps that anyone can apply to getting
them from the plains of despair and self-pity to the mountaintop of action, success and power.
In many ways the book speaks to us about the big questions of mortality and what impact our short
sojourn, when it is all over, will have made in the time we were here; what problem- however little- would
we have solved for one individual, a few individuals…or for humanity.
The author very successfully weaves a golden thread through the notions of powerlessness because of
our environment, to huge power, despite our environment and circumstances in a way that causes deep
reflection in the mind of the reader whilst giving clarity, focus and encouragement.
I find that this Book with its unyielding wisdoms, metaphors, and anecdotes would be an immensely useful
companion for the youth, and upcoming, and great encouragement for the not-so-young who has found
perhaps that after so many disappointments and trials, has had the spring in their steps fading a little….
“Are you slumbering through life..”?
Overall…this book is an inspirational revelation spanning the historical, philosophical and the literary
inspiration, and managing at once to also be an inspired call to action to each and every one of us to
indeed wake up from our various Slumber states, so we can in our own small way, within our spheres of
influence and circles of friendship and kinship, leave a mark so that when we do finally go to our final
eternal slumber, we will have left behind a legacy of some sort.
This book is in essence a manuscript for living a life truly of fulfillment.

IMPROVING THE LIVES OF OTHERS IS YOUR BEST LEGACY. - AMÉLIORER LA VIE DES AUTRES EST VOTRE MEILLEUR HÉRITAGE
In a world characterised by the rat race, most of us find ourselves aiming to become the fastest rat in the race. We are constantly trying to make a name for ourselves regardless of what that might do to undermine the lives of others. People employ all kinds of methods and tricks just to remain relevant in the scheme of things. A lot of people do not think of how their choices and actions are affecting others so long as they are putting themselves in positions where they can be seen and applauded. The end justifies the means for many people. So long as they are moving forward, it doesn't matter what effects that their choices will have on the well-being of other people.
The kind of satisfaction you get when you do not consider the effects of your goals on other people cannot be shared openly and proudly with others. Most of those pursuits have some clandestine areas that people do not want others to know about. Their decisions and actions are not based on principles that can be beneficial to those in the public domain. These are underhanded methods that can only be shared secretly between birds of the same feathers. When principles cannot be passed on from one generation to another, it becomes a matter of serious concern. Rather than improve the lives of other people, these kinds of people become hindrances to sustainable development.
Strong societies are built on strong principles that have been developed by people who had sustainable development of their societies in mind. People who are selflessly thinking about building strong communities will always develop principles and systems that will help other people make their own contributions. Unfortunately, such people are rare especially in developing societies where everyone wants to outshine their neighbours. When people are striving to survive, they usually do not have the interests of others in mind, they are fine so long as they are getting what they want. They generally want to be the one-eyed man in the city of the blind. To make themselves more relevant they use whatever they have to exploit those who are trying to survive.
The best way to live is to make life easier for others. The more you improve others, the more likely you are to improve yourself and expand your sphere of influence and your impact. At the end of it all, we shall always be remembered by what we did to change other people's lives. Material possessions will lose their value, titles will soon be forgotten. Only what you did for others will be used by those people to continue your legacy.
Do have a great week!
