PASSION. KNOWLEDGE. SUCCESS - PASSION. CONNAISSANCE. SUCCÈS
These days it easy to hear people
everywhere talking about something that they are passionate about. A close
interaction with many often reveals a lack of any personal affinity to what
they claim to be passionate about. There are various extraneous reasons why
people ‘find’ something they believe they have some passion for. I believe it
is really difficult to help people when you yourself do not have a story to
draw from. Passion does not come from head knowledge, it comes from the heart
and it is fed by experience. That is why success is mostly driven by an inner
conviction of what needs to be done to bring solutions to challenges. We know
that life gives us the same number of hours each day but it is not always the
misuse of our time that make some less successful than others. Circumstances of
life are very different from one person to another, one community to another. Even
when it comes to motivational/inspirational speeches and quotes, there is definitely
a difference when the heart of the speaker connects with the audience, it is
something powerful and that only happens when the speaker has been seasoned by
experience. Life throws difficulties at us and it is our response to these
situations that differentiates those seasoned from those who are working from
head knowledge. What knowledge does for us is that it gives us the ability to
respond to life in such a way that we can make lemonade out of the lemons it throws
at us. With every new experience, the passion we have about a cause becomes
stronger. It is important that we constantly educate ourselves as we move
through life because life is dynamic and the continuous change demands that we
be prepared for every new dimension. In this information age, times and systems
are changing so fast that we need to be on the go constantly. Instead of just going
through the motions in our daily lives, we need to take little steps each day
to move us in the direction of our success. Passion is what really gives the
energy to drive whatever knowledge we acquire in order to meet various
challenges. Success is not primarily money, it is the satisfaction that comes
with fulfilling that heartfelt desire to contribute your story to history. Enjoy
your day and do have a beautiful weekend!

CELEBRATE YOURSELF! - CÉLÉBREZ-VOUS!
We should learn to look for reasons to celebrate something,
always. We should not wait for others to approve of us before we celebrate. There
is always a reason to celebrate if you look well enough. Depression is becoming
popular at an alarming rate and many dreams are being aborted because of this. The
pressure to meet societal standards and be counted among the successful is
mounting. Comparison is now the order of the day and many people are not happy
because they are always making themselves feel they should be further along
like someone else they know and they are not. Happiness is presently derived
from the parameters of success promoted by society and heavily backed by media.
We are constantly bombarded by people who have won trophies in various domains
of life, flashing them on traditional and social media, making many unhappy
because they do not measure up to these achievements. We forget to celebrate
the "little" achievements that come our way in our everyday
activities and as a result of this many people suffer unhappiness and even
depression. You do not have to measure your success by what others have
achieved, look at success from the point of any improvement you make every day.
The steps you take might not be massive and broadcast by any media but they are
steps that you have made to improve your life, be proud of these and celebrate
your life. You are your best cheerleader, continue to cheer yourself on until
others recognise your success and join in; that is how these things work. Do not
allow superficial pressures to pile unnecessary burdens on you. Focus on
celebrating the little ‘trophies’ that you get from putting one foot in front
of the other each day. Remember that many do not have that kind of privilege. Do
have a fantastic weekend!

Have you ever wondered why it is
difficult for you to let go of someone or a situation that you know is not
healthy for you? It is possible that you are considering something that is
destroying you too ‘beautiful’ to let go. This kind of looks paradoxical to me;
how can destruction be associated with beauty in any form? I have been doing a
bit of farming or should I say gardening in recent times. Recently, I traveled
for about two weeks and by the time I came back weeds had almost over taken the
plants. I also discovered that insects
had started destroying the plants. We removed the weeds and one morning I saw
one of the grasshoppers that was eating the leaves. It was very beautiful, the
colours were bright and attractive. My husband wanted us to kill it but I said
it was too pretty to be destroyed. He told me if I did not, it would end up
destroying my harvest. This is what happens in our lives, what is preventing us
from pursuing our dream and making impact in life might be too beautiful in our
eyes to let go off. It might be a relationship, friends, habits, toys, social
media etc that we have to say “no” to in order to make progress but we consider
them “too beautiful” to remove from our lives. The longer it takes for you to
make up your mind that this beauty is destructive, the more difficult it would
be for you to move forward. They say life is made up choices and we must also
realise that choices are difficult to make, but they have to be made. It takes
courage to make choices that will improve our lives especially if we consider
people or things we have to let go to be beautiful or interesting. They might
be beautiful for other purposes but they can be obstacles to your making a
difference with your life and leaving a legacy. Have the courage to look beyond
the apparent beauty of stumbling blocks and see their salient evil so you could
move forward if you want to accomplish your dream. Enjoy your day!
Wednesday, 16 October 2019
