AFRICA IS A CONTINENT ON THE MOVE AND HER YOUTHS ARE HER GREATEST RESOURCE."We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can always build our youth for the future."Franklin D. Roosevelt. MentorAfrica looks to help youths, through various life transition mentoring topics, to prepare youths for development and leadership that will help them change the African narrative whenever the opportunity arises.

YOU CAN TURN DEFICIT INTO SURPLUS. - VOUS POUVEZ TRANSFORMER LE DÉFICIT EN EXCÉDENT.
"There is no human being on earth without some form of deficit, in fact most people have their deficits
outweighing their surpluses. Weak people with a surplus will blame it for not allowing them to face life's
challenges. No matter what side of the divide you place a weak person, they will end up playing the blame
game. Those who are driven by a passion to make a difference and make this world a better place will
take note of the deficit and think of ways of making a surplus out of it. They move on from that situation
even when they have every reason to blame and then look for ways of turning it around for the good of
everyone.
You cannot be strong and purpose driven if you are continuously looking for who or what to blame. It is
even more pathetic if it is a leader who is playing the blame game; it is nauseating! Do not build a tent in
a deficit unless you intend to waste your life, look at what you can do to change the status quo and go to
work. The story of successful people is majorly about how they handled their deficits, how they turned
challenges into opportunities. Successful people run towards what others are running from and they
prove that it is all in the perception. There is nothing new under the sun, what you are complaining
about is what has brought another person to the spotlight."

BE PRESENT IN LIFE'S MOMENTS.
Three things from this piece of work that jump out to me– provokes your thought process to re-evaluate
how you think as a person and of your culture, inspires one to do or become someone with a mission to be
community –led in one’s endeavors and finally, a good guide for the youth starting out in the journey called
‘Life.’ Well done.

DAY ONE: FROM THE WOMB TO THE TOMB
“Every day is a gift worth exploring and enjoying if we are clear about what our
dream is and we are pursuing it with enthusiasm. Then, every day would be
seen as an opportunity to live life to the fullest.”
Looking at the events that mean the most in any life, birth and death are quite pivotal. However, it is the
other events that occur during the span between these events that sum up the worth of anyone’s
existence. Whatever the quality of our life, it is a direct result of the decisions we make. No life is a
complete result of other people's decisions, others might influence or intimidate us into making some
decisions but the ultimate responsibility is ours. Our environment and people around us play a huge role
in our decision making process. Unfortunately most times, we do not have total control over where we
are located or people we have around us, but the way we respond to both is purely our responsibility. It
is equally important to understand that at some point in life, the amount of information we expose
ourselves to become more powerful than these other influences."

BE INTENTIONAL... THOUGHTS ARE PRICELESS.
A very candid and heartfelt book written from the experience and life taught skills of the author. It is not
only an inspiration but a much needed volume of encouragement and rejuvenation of the mind and spirit.
There's never a better time to read and imbibe the contents of this book than right now. A must read!!
-Aruoriwo Ononeme.
"Many of us are too noisy or too distracted to pay attention to our thoughts until they become a real nag.
Thoughts that would have developed into wonderful ideas have been ignored because of the unnecessary chatter that we allow into our space throughout the day. In order to be productive, we have to learn to pay attention to particular thoughts that come into our minds and hold them long enough to understand what they actually mean. When we hear of inventions and ideas that change the world, it is hard to imagine that these things began in a moment as just a thought. Everything great began with what people call the “aha moment” but these moments come only to those who have a desire to do something with their gifts and talents. It is not because they are special, simply the fact they have a focus and are trying to reach a particular destination.
Intentional minds pick up on signals that others might miss because even a whisper is recognised when it is an idea with a possibility. When our minds are focused on what we can do to make a difference and make human existence better with our lives, we put ourselves in a position to receive ideas to help us achieve our objectives. We can never underestimate the power of a moment; it is all it takes to make a difference."
