WORDS CAN CREATE INFLUENCE. - LES MOTS PEUVENT CRÉER UNE INFLUENCE.

No one wants to listen to people who have no respect for their opinion. If you want to be heard, you have to respect others enough to also listen to them. No meaningful development can be made by a community that is so disconnected that people do not want to listen to each other. Rewarding

communication requires mutual respect. When we understand that development is a collective responsibility, we will each seek to be the best we can be by always being a positive influence even when we are making corrections and enforcing discipline. Everyone needs to be conscious of this fact, especially those that are in positions where they come in contact with a lot of people either because they are in leadership or they are in positions that make people look up to them. This is why it is important to be intentional because you never know at what point you come into the kind of space that makes people want to listen to you. 

When you are oblivious to the power of influence, you will abuse it without even realising what you are doing. There are spaces where your ability to listen and be listened to become a matter of such importance that if you do not get it right, it will rob you of very important opportunities to add that value that you so desire. We need to constantly have that worthy cause of value addition in mind when we are in conversations that will help us bring about this improvement. When we improve things we are usually the first

beneficiaries because we learn through the process. We also allow ourselves to be used as guinea pigs. This is a sure way of successfully approaching the venture you want to undertake.

This couple that I know has been working assiduously to learn from the bottom up by going back to how things were done so they can add value to those systems by leveraging exposure to formal and informal education, using themselves and those around them as guinea pigs. In order to get it right, they take time to educate themselves by listening, whether planned or unplanned, and reading. Upgrading the standard of life around you is not a job for the fainthearted. It takes a lot of sifting of information and that can only be achieved by people who can really take time to listen. To successfully research, evaluate and develop, it takes a lot of putting yourself out there. Perpetually thinking about how to work on what you want to achieve in the best possible way requires that you rake in as much information as you can. Only good listeners can glean from conversations what others are taking for granted.

Personne n'a envie d'écouter ceux qui ne respectent pas son opinion. Pour être entendu, il faut respecter les autres et les écouter. Une communauté si déconnectée que ses membres refusent de s'écouter ne peut progresser de manière significative. Une communication constructive exige un respect mutuel. Lorsque nous comprenons que le développement est une responsabilité collective, nous nous efforçons tous d'être la meilleure version de nous-mêmes, en exerçant une influence positive, même lorsque nous corrigeons ou faisons respecter la discipline. Chacun doit en être conscient, en particulier ceux qui occupent des postes à responsabilité ou qui inspirent le respect. C'est pourquoi il est important d'agir intentionnellement : on ne sait jamais à quel moment on se trouve dans une position où l'on a envie d'être écouté.

Ignorer le pouvoir de l'influence, c'est en abuser sans même s'en rendre compte. Il existe des domaines où votre capacité à écouter et à être écouté devient si cruciale que si vous ne la maîtrisez pas, vous risquez de passer à côté d'opportunités précieuses pour apporter la valeur ajoutée que vous recherchez. Nous devons constamment garder à l'esprit cette noble cause de la création de valeur lors de conversations visant à améliorer les choses. Lorsque nous améliorons les choses, nous en sommes généralement les premiers bénéficiaires, car nous apprenons du processus. Nous acceptons également de servir de cobayes. C'est une méthode sûre pour mener à bien le projet que vous souhaitez entreprendre.

Un couple que je connais travaille assidûment à apprendre de la base, en revenant aux pratiques établies afin d'apporter de la valeur ajoutée aux systèmes existants. Ils tirent parti de leur expérience en matière d'éducation formelle et informelle, en s'inspirant eux-mêmes et en expérimentant auprès de leur entourage. Pour y parvenir, ils prennent le temps de se former en écoutant, de manière planifiée ou non, et en lisant. Améliorer le niveau de vie autour de soi n'est pas une mince affaire. Cela demande un tri minutieux des informations, et seules les personnes capables de prendre le temps d'écouter peuvent y parvenir. Pour mener à bien des recherches, des évaluations et des développements, il est essentiel de s'investir pleinement. Réfléchir constamment à la meilleure façon d'atteindre ses objectifs implique de recueillir un maximum d'informations. Seuls les bons auditeurs peuvent percevoir, au fil des conversations, ce que d'autres tiennent pour acquis.
