Every visionary has a picture of the final destination which others do not have and cannot have no matter the attempt to describe it to them. That picture means more than the visionary can ever express in words and images. The vision is a part of who the visionary is and what they want to accomplish in life. They think about it constantly and they do so from every possible angle imaginable. Before they take the first step, they have done many retakes in their imagination. When the artist puts brush to a canvas, there are a lot of attempts before they decide which stroke goes where to create the image that they have in mind. That is why artists generally do not allow people to see their unfinished work. 

It is possible to think that with all your preparations and skills, your first stroke will be applauded by all as it has been applauded by you. You put your all into it and you stood back and patted yourself on the back. But when others saw it, their reaction was a disappointment and you felt incapable. The first stroke is not always the best stroke but it is one of the most valuable strokes of the artist. First attempts are normally filled with emotional highs but they are just the starting block. Without a first attempt, the journey of success will never be undertaken. That first stroke of the brush is the only way in which you can put into the canvas of life that big picture that you have in your imagination. Never be too discouraged by what those who have no idea of the vision think of your first attempt, to continue. 

Even the first attempt can be discouraging to the visionary but those who succeed always see how to improve where others who do not understand the vision see failure. Once you as a visionary understand that there is always room for improvements, you will not allow the negative criticism of other people to stop you from continuing because you understand that there is more where the first attempt came from. No attempt is useless, that first is usually a map. Without that attempt, the visionary cannot imagine other possibilities. But from what you have in front of you, more vistas will open up if you are knowledgeable enough to know that you now have a foundation upon which you can build. 

The greatest mistake we can make is to use the quality of the first attempt as a standard and allow it discourage us from pursuing what we know inside of us that we can achieve. Everyone has the ability of going back to the drawing board to see what needs to improve, what needs to change or what needs to be discarded. We must be careful how we allow first impressions to get our attention. Never forget that you are better than the version of you that existed before you attempted anything. Give yourself room to grow because you have more in you than you can ever imagine.

Cette image a une valeur inestimable, bien au-delà de ce que le visionnaire pourra jamais exprimer par des mots ou des images. La vision fait partie intégrante de son identité et de ce qu'il souhaite accomplir dans la vie. Il y pense constamment, sous tous les angles possibles. Avant même de faire le premier pas, il a multiplié les essais dans son imagination. Lorsqu'un artiste pose son pinceau sur une toile, il multiplie les essais avant de décider quel coup de pinceau porter et où, pour créer l'image qu'il a en tête. C'est pourquoi les artistes ne montrent généralement pas leurs œuvres inachevées.

On peut croire qu'avec toute sa préparation et son talent, son premier coup de pinceau sera applaudi de tous, comme on l'a soi-même applaudi. On y a mis tout son cœur, on s'est félicité. Mais à la vue des autres, la réaction fut la déception, et l'on se sentit incapable. Le premier coup de pinceau n'est pas toujours le meilleur, mais c'est l'un des plus précieux pour un artiste. Les premières tentatives sont généralement empreintes d'une grande excitation, mais elles ne constituent que le point de départ. Sans une première tentative, le chemin du succès ne peut être entrepris. Ce premier coup de pinceau est la seule façon de donner vie à la vision d'ensemble que vous avez en tête. Ne vous laissez jamais décourager par l'avis de ceux qui ne comprennent pas votre vision ; persévérez.

Même la première tentative peut être décourageante pour le visionnaire, mais ceux qui réussissent voient toujours comment s'améliorer là où d'autres, ne comprenant pas la vision, voient l'échec. Une fois que vous, en tant que visionnaire, comprenez qu'il y a toujours une marge de progression, vous ne laisserez pas les critiques négatives vous arrêter, car vous savez que le chemin est encore long après cette première tentative. Aucune tentative n'est inutile ; la première est souvent une feuille de route. Sans cette tentative, le visionnaire ne peut imaginer d'autres possibilités. Mais à partir de ce que vous avez devant vous, de nouvelles perspectives s'ouvriront si vous êtes suffisamment conscient que vous disposez désormais de fondations solides sur lesquelles construire.

 La plus grande erreur que nous puissions commettre est de nous fier à la qualité de notre première tentative et de nous laisser décourager, au lieu de poursuivre ce dont nous savons au fond de nous que nous sommes capables. Chacun a la possibilité de revenir en arrière pour identifier les points à améliorer, les éléments à modifier ou ce qui doit être abandonné. Il faut faire attention à l'influence des premières impressions. N'oubliez jamais que vous êtes meilleur que la version de vous-même avant d'entreprendre quoi que ce soit. Donnez-vous la possibilité de progresser, car vous avez en vous des ressources insoupçonnées.

SCARS ARE ESSENTIAL PART OF THE PROCESS. - LES CICATRICES FONT PARTIE ESSENTIELLE DU PROCESSUS.

Scars are not things we should be ashamed of if they are reminders of victories we had over obstacles that got us to where we are. The process of achieving a goal involves blood, sweat and tears and these will create scars. They tell a story. Ideas do not just become reality without a story. The story of overcoming is not always pretty, beauty is only usually seen in goals that have been accomplished. No medals are won for the long and mostly painful hours of practice. People are proud to talk about their pain in those practice sessions only after they have won the medal and not before. 

Every rose comes from a tree with thorns. I wish beauty could exist without ugliness but that is how life is crafted. Success has a very beautiful outlook but hidden underneath all that glamour are the scars that were created by the pains of the process. No success is cheap even if you are standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before. There is always a personal price to pay. People have tried to avoid this price but all they do is change the type of price that they choose to pay. Unfortunately, many people have paid higher prices by trying to avoid paying any price at all. There is always a higher hidden price when we decide to take a seeming alternative root. Always beware of shortcuts.  

What you are trying to avoid has a way of mutating to something else that you may think is better. It is only after we get involved in such alternate routes that we discover that what we tried to avoid has found a way of catching up with us. There is a process that cannot be avoided on the road to success. The process is an essential part and it is normally lined with obstacles that must be overcome. Most times, these are not easy to deal with and they leave injuries that later become scars which act as reminders. We must beware of those who arrive at 'success' without scars. It is only by the things that we have dealt with and overcome that we become a source of inspiration and help to others. 

No journey we undertake is for ourselves alone. If you are living life just for yourself, you have gotten it all wrong. We are interconnected as human beings and what we share with others makes life better for everyone. We learn from others to create experiences that others can also learn from. When we understand this, it helps us to take whatever life throws at us with grace. When you overcome, you are in a position to make it easier for other people by helping them learn from your experiences. The problem is that most people are pursuing success for very selfish reasons. That is why they are easily discouraged when they meet with obstacles. When you have a mindset of adding value and impacting others, you see every challenge as an opportunity to achieve your goals as well as helping others to achieve theirs. 

This is the kind of mindset that is not ashamed of their scars.

Les cicatrices ne sont pas une honte si elles témoignent des victoires remportées face aux obstacles qui nous ont permis d'arriver là où nous sommes. Atteindre un objectif demande des efforts considérables, et ces efforts laissent des traces. Elles racontent une histoire. Les idées ne se concrétisent pas sans un récit. L'histoire du dépassement de soi n'est pas toujours rose ; la beauté se révèle généralement dans les objectifs atteints. On ne gagne pas de médailles pour les longues et souvent douloureuses heures d'entraînement. On ne parle avec fierté de la douleur endurée lors de ces séances d'entraînement qu'après avoir décroché la médaille, jamais avant.

Chaque rose pousse sur un arbre à épines. J'aimerais que la beauté puisse exister sans laideur, mais c'est ainsi que la vie est faite. Le succès a une apparence magnifique, mais sous ce vernis se cachent les cicatrices laissées par les souffrances du parcours. Le succès n'est jamais facile, même lorsqu'on s'appuie sur les épaules de ceux qui nous ont précédés. Il y a toujours un prix à payer. Certains tentent d'éviter ce prix, mais ils ne font que changer sa nature. Malheureusement, beaucoup ont payé un prix fort en cherchant à éviter tout prix. Choisir une voie qui semble alternative a toujours un coût caché plus élevé. Méfiez-vous toujours des raccourcis.

Ce que vous cherchez à éviter a la fâcheuse tendance à se transformer en quelque chose qui vous paraît peut-être meilleur. C'est seulement après avoir emprunté ces chemins de traverse que l'on découvre que ce que l'on tentait d'éviter nous rattrape. Le chemin du succès passe par un processus incontournable, jalonné d'obstacles à surmonter. Souvent difficiles à gérer, ces obstacles laissent des traces indélébiles, des cicatrices qui nous rappellent nos erreurs. Méfiez-vous de ceux qui atteignent le « succès » sans laisser de traces. C'est par les épreuves que nous avons surmontées que nous devenons une source d'inspiration et d'aide pour les autres.

Aucun voyage n'est entrepris uniquement pour soi-même. Si vous vivez uniquement pour vous-même, vous vous trompez complètement. En tant qu'êtres humains, nous sommes tous interconnectés, et ce que nous partageons avec les autres enrichit la vie de chacun. Nous apprenons des autres pour créer des expériences dont d'autres peuvent également tirer des enseignements. Comprendre cela nous aide à affronter les épreuves de la vie avec sérénité. Lorsque vous surmontez les difficultés, vous êtes en mesure d'aider les autres en partageant votre expérience. Le problème, c'est que la plupart des gens poursuivent le succès pour des raisons très égoïstes. C'est pourquoi ils se découragent facilement face aux obstacles. Lorsque vous avez à cœur d'apporter de la valeur et d'avoir un impact positif sur les autres, vous voyez chaque défi comme une opportunité d'atteindre vos objectifs et d'aider les autres à atteindre les leurs. C'est ce genre d'état d'esprit qui n'a pas honte de ses cicatrices.

The kind of identity crisis that people are facing these days is very concerning. Most people do not want to be themselves most of the time. They feel that they have nothing worth building that they can showcase to the world. Comparison has hit an all time high. People are no longer just competing with themselves to become versions of themselves. They no longer believe that they are unique and that their uniqueness has a place that no one else can feel. Even those who understand this principle can become easily fazed by other people's achievements and they start to fret. They compare themselves to neighbours, schoolmates, family, colleagues and the list goes on. 

There is no other time in human history where peer and societal pressure has produced copycats in the number that it is presently doing. You do not need to to be physically present somewhere to feel the pressure. The virtual interconnectivity is making sure that everyone is feeling the heat. Things that were hitherto in the private domain have become public knowledge. This is a time when your identity is so threatened that people are looking to create pseudo identities so that they can fit into spaces that they imagine will give them the needed relevance. Unfortunately, many have missed their mark and are mounting emotional pressure on themselves that is causing health and other concerns. 

 No matter how you try, you cannot become a better version of another person, especially the one who knows who they are and what they have. The best thing you can do for yourself is to know, understand yourself and be contented with who you are and what you have. The person that you are envying and trying to pattern your life after has done exactly that. You can be inspired by someone but it dangerous and unproductive to be come a carbon copy. Every piece of a puzzle has a space particularly designed for it that cannot be duplicated. When you decide to become a copy of somebody else, your space in the puzzle of life is left empty. You are therefore continually looking for where to fit in and you then constitute a nuisance to others. 

You might think that by making money and achieving a certain level of fame that you are running in your own lane. Certainly not! You are just picking up crumbs that fell from others as they are maintaining their lane. The impact and satisfaction that you get from filling your own space of the puzzle will never be achieved. The worst part is that others are actually linked to that your space and it makes it difficult for them to function properly when that space is empty. Don't sell yourself short, be your authentic self and the world will be better for it. Your success is tied to that of others, stop selfishly thinking about yourself alone. Myopia is a disease that needs attention and so are myopic, self-centered people. They need to pay close attention and see far beyond themselves.

La crise d'identité que traversent les gens aujourd'hui est très préoccupante. La plupart des gens ont du mal à être eux-mêmes. Ils ont l'impression de n'avoir rien de valable à construire, rien à montrer au monde. La comparaison sociale est plus que jamais d'actualité. On ne se compare plus seulement à soi-même. On ne se sent plus unique, ni que cette singularité puisse être ressentie par autrui. Même ceux qui comprennent ce principe peuvent être facilement déstabilisés par les réussites des autres et commencer à s'inquiéter. Ils se comparent à leurs voisins, camarades de classe, famille, collègues, et la liste est longue.

Jamais dans l'histoire de l'humanité la pression des pairs et de la société n'a engendré autant d'imitateurs. Nul besoin d'être physiquement présent pour ressentir cette pression. L'interconnexion virtuelle fait en sorte que chacun en subisse les conséquences. Ce qui relevait autrefois de la sphère privée est devenu public. Nous vivons une époque où l'identité est tellement menacée que certains cherchent à se créer de fausses identités pour s'intégrer à des milieux censés leur apporter l'importance qu'ils recherchent. Malheureusement, beaucoup se trompent et s'imposent une pression émotionnelle qui engendre des problèmes de santé et autres.

Quels que soient vos efforts, vous ne pouvez pas devenir une meilleure version de quelqu'un d'autre, surtout de quelqu'un qui sait qui il est et ce qu'il possède. Le mieux que vous puissiez faire pour vous-même est de vous connaître, de vous comprendre et d'être satisfait de qui vous êtes et de ce que vous avez. La personne que vous enviez et dont vous essayez de calquer votre vie a fait exactement cela. S'inspirer de quelqu'un est une chose, mais devenir une copie conforme est dangereux et contre-productif. Chaque pièce d'un puzzle a une place qui lui est propre et qui est irremplaçable. Lorsque vous décidez de copier quelqu'un d'autre, votre place dans le puzzle de la vie reste vide. Vous cherchez alors constamment votre place et finissez par devenir une nuisance pour les autres.

Vous pensez peut-être qu'en gagnant de l'argent et en atteignant une certaine notoriété, vous tracez votre propre chemin. Certainement pas ! Vous ne faites que ramasser les miettes laissées par les autres, qui continuent leur chemin. L'impact et la satisfaction que vous retirez de la réalisation de votre propre potentiel resteront inatteignables. Le pire, c'est que les autres sont liés à cet espace et que son absence les empêche de fonctionner correctement. Ne vous sous-estimez pas, soyez authentique et le monde n'en sera que meilleur. Votre succès est lié à celui des autres ; cessez de penser égoïstement à vous seul. La myopie est une maladie qui nécessite une attention particulière, tout comme les personnes myopes et égocentriques. Elles doivent être attentives et voir plus loin que le bout de leur nez.

WHAT EVIDENCE ARE YOU GATHERING? - QUELLES PREUVES RASSEMBLEZ-VOUS ?

We all have the right to make choices that benefit us. There is however a problem with trying to speak ill of something or somewhere from which you have previously benefitted. Do not allow your personal sentiments and grudges to blind you to the benefits you once enjoyed. It is alright to give up but it is not alright to make it your mission to make sure that other people see things from your point of view. You can talk about your decision without pushing your personal experience as the only valid experience because some other people might have a totally different experience. When you decide to quit, you will gather enough negative experience to do so. On the other hand, the people who have decided to stay have also gathered enough positive evidence to do so. Life is not usually black and white. 

It is amazing how people who have given up on something can produce enough evidence to convince themselves and some others why they do not want that particular thing anymore. The truth of the matter is that as they try to convince others, they are actually trying to convince themselves as well so they always go about gathering evidence to favour their cause. The reason is that they have chosen not to see the other side of the matter, so they have to find enough evidence to support their choice. Identity whatever you are working so hard to defend and check the motive behind it. You have a right to your choice but just be sure that you making that choice in all sincerity. When you are convinced that your motives are right, you will not put so effort into trying to convince others to follow. You will be at peace with yourself and leave everyone else to be judge unto themselves.  

There are people who are so passionate about something that they get angry at anyone who does not see from their perspective. The very experiences that are pushing you out are actually pulling other people in. Just as there is enough evidence to support your move, others also have enough evidence to keep them in. Whatever we decide to do with our lives, we will find ample evidence to support our choices. Two people will always get something different from any situation depending on the choices they have made or want to make. These choices are personal and should be respected. 

You can give your opinion if you think you have to but, that does not mean that you will be offended if people do not agree with you. Where some people are seeing ashes, others are seeing beauty. It all depends on how they have decided to see what life presents to them. If you are around people who do not have the same perspective as you, you must must determine to respect their opinions unless it has to do with a matter of life and death. Even at that, there is how far you can go. Always remember that as we go through life, everyone is gathering evidence to support their own opinion. That is how life works.

Nous avons tous le droit de faire des choix qui nous sont bénéfiques. Cependant, il est problématique de dénigrer quelque chose ou un lieu dont on a profité par le passé. Ne laissez pas vos sentiments personnels et vos rancunes vous aveugler sur les avantages que vous avez autrefois appréciés. Il est normal d'abandonner, mais il n'est pas acceptable de se donner pour mission d'imposer son point de vue aux autres. Vous pouvez parler de votre décision sans pour autant présenter votre expérience personnelle comme la seule valable, car d'autres personnes peuvent avoir une expérience totalement différente. Lorsque vous décidez d'abandonner, vous accumulez suffisamment d'expériences négatives pour prendre cette décision. En revanche, ceux qui ont décidé de persévérer ont également accumulé suffisamment d'éléments positifs. La vie n'est généralement pas binaire.

Il est étonnant de constater comment ceux qui ont renoncé à quelque chose parviennent à produire suffisamment d'arguments pour se convaincre eux-mêmes et convaincre les autres de leur refus. En réalité, lorsqu'ils tentent de convaincre les autres, ils essaient aussi de se convaincre eux-mêmes, et s'efforcent donc constamment de rassembler des preuves qui appuient leur cause. La raison est simple : ils ont choisi d'ignorer l'autre point de vue, et doivent donc trouver des preuves suffisantes pour justifier leur décision. Identifiez ce que vous défendez avec tant d'acharnement et examinez vos motivations profondes. Vous avez le droit de faire vos propres choix, mais assurez-vous d'être sincère. Convaincu de la justesse de vos motivations, vous n'aurez plus besoin de déployer autant d'efforts pour convaincre les autres. Vous serez en paix avec vous-même et laisserez chacun se faire son propre avis.

Certaines personnes sont tellement passionnées qu'elles s'emportent contre quiconque ne partage pas leur point de vue. Ce qui vous éloigne d'une cause attire paradoxalement d'autres personnes. De même qu'il existe suffisamment de preuves pour justifier votre décision, d'autres en ont aussi pour la maintenir. Quel que soit notre choix de vie, nous trouverons toujours des arguments solides pour le soutenir. Deux personnes tireront toujours des enseignements différents d'une même situation, selon les choix qu'elles ont faits ou qu'elles souhaitent faire. Ces choix sont personnels et doivent être respectés.

 Vous pouvez donner votre avis si vous le jugez nécessaire, mais cela ne signifie pas que vous vous offenserez si les autres ne sont pas d'accord avec vous. Là où certains voient des cendres, d'autres voient la beauté. Tout dépend de la façon dont chacun perçoit la vie. Si vous côtoyez des personnes qui n'ont pas la même perspective que vous, vous devez vous engager à respecter leurs opinions, sauf en cas de danger de mort. Même dans ce cas, il y a des limites. N'oubliez jamais qu'au fil de la vie, chacun cherche à étayer son opinion. C'est ainsi que va la vie.

We should train ourselves to push boundaries beyond what is currently available. People are too easily satisfied especially when financial levels have gone up. We must not allow the financial comfort of selling sprouts stop us from progressing to selling fruits and other harvests and developing other products from our harvests. Many people are satisfied with dealing only with raw materials when they can actually go further into manufacturing and other ventures. Growth is only as far as you give it permission to go. 

The mature plant is never the same size as the seed that it came from. It also does not look the same as the seed. Life evolves. Not everything evolves at the same speed but growth is definitely a part of life. Growth can be stunted but it is still growth although deficient. With science, things can be transplanted but that does not mean that growth is avoided. It so because if what is transplanted does not take its own roots and grow, it will die. People are afraid to start small because they believe that they are starting too late compared to their peers. The problem is not how or when you start, it is how you grow that determines how successful you become.  

Growth is an inevitable part of life. The ability to grow is what determines how far you can go. When people see finished products, they never imagine how and what it has taken for them to get to that stage. Many people try to circumvent or speed up the growth process and they end up damaging the whole vision. There are those who are satisfied with stunted growth. Even if they do not achieve something more than a sprout, they are satisfied that at least, there is evidence of life. Seeds are not meant to end as sprouts even though some sprouts are edible and commercially viable. Without becoming fully mature, there will be no seeds that can grow more sprouts. Life in all its forms is progressive. One stage of life must give birth to another. 

Innovation is continuous. There are products that come out and we think that we have seen the end of things but that version actually becomes seed for another innovative idea. Starting small is normal, what is not normal is staying small. Every vision has the ability to birth another one. Stunted growth is not a problem of the vision, it is a problem of the visionary who cannot see beyond the sprouting stage. Every visionary must have the capacity to see far and to look for ways of going as far as they can. The more you push the boundaries, the more the idea opens up new vistas. As long as you do not allow yourself to be easily satisfied, you will continue to see creative ways of making things into other forms that are only available to those who want more.

Nous devons nous entraîner à repousser les limites de ce qui est actuellement disponible. On se contente trop facilement de peu, surtout lorsque le niveau de vie s'améliore. Il ne faut pas que le confort financier de la vente de germes nous empêche de progresser vers la vente de fruits et autres récoltes, et de développer d'autres produits dérivés. Nombreux sont ceux qui se contentent de travailler uniquement avec des matières premières, alors qu'ils pourraient aller plus loin dans la fabrication et d'autres projets. La croissance est limitée par ce que l'on lui permet d'aller.

Une plante adulte n'a jamais la même taille que la graine dont elle est issue. Son apparence est également différente. La vie évolue. Tout n'évolue pas à la même vitesse, mais la croissance en est indéniablement une composante. La croissance peut être ralentie, mais il s'agit toujours de croissance, même imparfaite. La science permet de transplanter des plantes, mais cela n'empêche pas leur croissance. En effet, si ce qui est transplanté ne prend pas racine et ne se développe pas, il mourra. On a peur de commencer petit, car on pense qu'il est trop tard par rapport aux autres. Le problème n'est pas comment ni quand on commence, mais comment on se développe : c'est ce qui détermine le succès. 

La croissance est une composante inévitable de la vie. Notre capacité à évoluer détermine notre potentiel. Face à un produit fini, on imagine rarement le chemin parcouru pour y parvenir. Nombreux sont ceux qui tentent de contourner ou d'accélérer ce processus, compromettant ainsi la vision globale. D'autres se contentent d'une croissance modeste, même si le résultat n'est qu'une germination. Ils sont satisfaits d'avoir au moins une preuve de vie. Les graines ne sont pas destinées à rester de simples germes, même si certains sont comestibles et commercialement viables. Sans maturité complète, aucune graine ne peut engendrer de nouvelles germes. La vie, sous toutes ses formes, est progressive. Chaque étape de la vie doit donner naissance à la suivante.

L'innovation est continue. Certains produits, une fois lancés, nous font croire que nous avons atteint le summum, mais cette version devient en réalité le germe d'une nouvelle idée novatrice. Commencer modestement est normal ; s'y cantonner ne l'est pas. Chaque vision a le pouvoir d'en engendrer une autre. Le manque de vision n'est pas dû à un manque de perspective, mais à l'incapacité du visionnaire à dépasser le stade de la germination. Tout visionnaire doit avoir la capacité de voir loin et de chercher constamment à repousser les limites de son potentiel. Plus on repousse les frontières, plus l'idée ouvre de nouveaux horizons. Tant qu'on ne se contente pas de peu, on continue de trouver des moyens créatifs de transformer les choses en des formes inédites, accessibles uniquement à ceux qui aspirent à plus.

Time is the essence of the gift called life. People yet unborn do not have that gift. Dead people do not have it either. Only those who are alive have the gift of time. We have only chance at doing something significant with this gift. It can either be squandered or invested. When it comes to how we use time, only one part of it is most important at any given time and that is the day in you presently live. The days you have lived, you cannot undo or reclaim, the ones you are yet to live, you have no control over. Only today is available to you to apply the knowledge that the past has given you or to prepare for the future that is probably coming. Most of us make the grevious mistake of giving the past or the future the power that hinders us from living the present to the full by giving it the attention that it truly deserves. 

Each day comes with its gifts and inconveniences. These are two sides of a coin. Some times, the scale is balanced and at other times, the weight is heavier on one side. This tilt can be natural or it can be caused by carrying over baggage from the previous day or days. When we do that, we cause the scale to tilt in favour of what we are bringing with us ; gift or inconvenience. Whatever it may be, it will surely influence how you explore the present day and the impact it will have on your overall vision. Nothing is worth sharing that day with that is not a foundation that will help you build something significant on this day that is currently available to you. The choice of how your day turns out is largely yours. 

You have to make up your mind whether you want to allow yesterday to steal from today. That choice has kept some from moving forward while on the other hand, it has helped others to explore the present day to the maximum. When we lack clarity as to what our vision is, we are bound to gravitate towards things that have no specific value to what we are pursuing. We then spend the present regretting our mistakes or basking unnecessarily in our past success. Since success is not an event, we cannot allow past mistakes or achievements to stop us from exploring the present to the full. There are always corrections and more improvements to be made. There are also more bricks available to build something new because one successful event births other types of success. The gift of today will be maximised only if you see success as a continuum. Never allow the past or indeed the future to stop you from improving or innovating.

Le temps est l'essence même du don qu'est la vie. Les êtres à naître ne possèdent pas ce don. Les morts non plus. Seuls les vivants ont accès au temps. Nous n'avons qu'une seule chance d'accomplir quelque chose d'important avec ce don. Nous pouvons le gaspiller ou l'investir. En matière de temps, une seule chose compte vraiment à chaque instant : le jour présent. Les jours passés sont irréversibles, et ceux à venir échappent à notre contrôle. Seul aujourd'hui nous offre la possibilité d'appliquer les leçons du passé ou de nous préparer à l'avenir. La plupart d'entre nous commettons la grave erreur de laisser le passé ou l'avenir nous empêcher de vivre pleinement le présent, en  l'accordant l'attention qu'ils méritent.

Chaque jour apporte son lot de joies et de peines. Ce sont les deux faces d'une même pièce. Parfois, l'équilibre est parfait, parfois, l'un des deux camps l'emporte. Ce déséquilibre peut être naturel ou dû au poids des événements des jours précédents. Dans ce cas, la balance penche en faveur de ce que nous portons avec nous : atouts ou inconvénients. Quoi qu’il en soit, cela influencera votre façon d’aborder le présent et son impact sur votre vision globale. Rien ne mérite d’être partagé ce jour-là qui ne constitue pas une base solide pour construire quelque chose d’important aujourd’hui, parmi les opportunités qui s’offrent à vous. Le déroulement de votre journée vous appartient en grande partie.

Vous devez décider si vous voulez laisser hier empiéter sur aujourd’hui. Ce choix a empêché certains d’avancer, tandis qu’à l’inverse, il a permis à d’autres de profiter pleinement du présent. Lorsque notre vision est floue, nous sommes inévitablement attirés par des choses sans valeur ajoutée pour notre objectif. Nous passons alors le présent à regretter nos erreurs ou à nous complaire inutilement dans nos succès passés. Puisque le succès n’est pas un événement ponctuel, nous ne pouvons pas laisser nos erreurs ou nos réussites passées nous empêcher de vivre pleinement le présent. Il y a toujours des corrections et des améliorations à apporter. De plus, de nouvelles opportunités s'offrent à nous pour construire quelque chose de nouveau, car un succès en engendre d'autres. Vous profiterez pleinement du présent si vous envisagez le succès comme un processus continu. Ne laissez jamais le passé, ni même l'avenir, vous empêcher de progresser ou d'innover.

When surrounded by humongous challenges, it is very difficult to see anything else because their size makes every other thing seem insignificant. You are constantly bombarded with news and thoughts of hopelessness and discouragement. There are often two ways to handle things in such situations, you either pretend that these challenges do not exist or you fixate on the challenges and resign yourself to fate. In both cases, the challenges do not go away. In fact, they become more impossible to solve the more they are left unattended. Even worse is the fact that many people then become prophets of doom. Our perception of the situation is paramount. Not everyone sees things the same way and it is this perception we need to work on as individuals. 

We cannot run from the facts, we must acknowledge that things are not working in an environment where they are not. However, we do not need to focus on the things that are not working. The greater percentage of people are doing just that already and that is the easy part. It is better to join that other small percentage to FOCUS ON SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO MAKE SOMETHING WORK. What you focus on, you magnify. It is not easy to belong to that small percentage but it is not impossible no matter where you are or who you are. Focusing on what is wrong shuts down the flow of your creative juices needed to find a solution. The only way to change anything is to change our perception of it. Immediately you see yourself being able to be part of the solution, you start to see little ways in which you can intervene. 

The problem is that many of us freeze at the enormity of the problems. We cannot think of anything apart from the impossibility that is facing us. Our imagination blanks out. But for those who see themselves differently, they see something, no matter how little, that they can do. Immediately, focus is framed, the possibility grows larger. We unfreeze our brains to begin to think of all the possible ways in which we can make a contribution to the solution, no matter how small. If we do not properly frame our focus on what is possible, the vast impossibility will swallow up any other perception. 

You have to convince yourself that you have something that can make a difference in any situation. That conviction of purpose is very powerful. It births courage and confidence. People who have worked against all odds to make things better in our world have come from this tiny percentage of those who take their eyes of the enormity of the challenges and focus on the little possibility that is available. They have discovered by doing so that as soon as they step foot into that possibility, it opens up many ways in which they can make valuable contributions. Until you can get to this point, you will continue to dwell only on the impossibility of the situation. You can never fulfil your goals focusing on impossibilities.

Face à des défis colossaux, il est difficile de voir autre chose, car leur ampleur rend tout le reste insignifiant. On est constamment bombardé d'informations et de pensées de désespoir et de découragement. Souvent, deux réactions s'offrent à nous dans de telles situations : soit on fait comme si ces défis n'existaient pas, soit on se focalise dessus et on se résigne à son sort. Dans les deux cas, les défis ne disparaissent pas. En réalité, plus on les néglige, plus ils deviennent insurmontables. Pire encore, beaucoup se transforment alors en Cassandre. Notre perception de la situation est primordiale. Chacun perçoit les choses différemment, et c'est sur cette perception que nous devons travailler individuellement.

On ne peut pas nier la réalité ; il faut reconnaître que les choses ne fonctionnent pas dans un environnement où elles ne fonctionnent pas. Cependant, il n'est pas nécessaire de se focaliser sur ce qui ne va pas. La plupart des gens le font déjà, et c'est la partie la plus facile. Il est préférable de rejoindre ce petit pourcentage qui se concentre sur un aspect de la solution auquel vous pouvez contribuer. Ce sur quoi vous vous concentrez prend de l'ampleur. Appartenir à ce petit pourcentage n'est pas facile, mais c'est possible, quels que soient votre situation et votre parcours. Se focaliser sur ce qui ne va pas bride votre créativité, pourtant essentielle pour trouver une solution. Le seul moyen de changer les choses est de changer notre perception. Dès que vous vous voyez capable de faire partie de la solution, vous commencez à entrevoir de petites actions que vous pouvez entreprendre.

Le problème, c'est que beaucoup d'entre nous sont paralysés par l'ampleur des problèmes. Nous ne pouvons penser à rien d'autre qu'à l'impossibilité qui nous semble insurmontable. Notre imagination se bloque. Mais ceux qui ont une vision différente des choses entrevoient quelque chose, aussi infime soit-il, qu'ils peuvent faire. Immédiatement, l'attention se recentre, le champ des possibles s'élargit. Nous libérons notre esprit pour commencer à réfléchir à toutes les manières possibles de contribuer à la solution, aussi modeste soit-elle. Si nous ne concentrons pas notre attention sur ce qui est possible, l'immensité de l'impossibilité finira par occulter toute autre perception.

Vous devez vous convaincre que vous possédez les ressources nécessaires pour faire la différence, quelle que soit la situation. Cette conviction d'avoir un but est extrêmement puissante. Elle engendre le courage et la confiance. Ceux qui ont œuvré contre vents et marées pour améliorer le monde appartiennent à cette infime minorité qui, au lieu de se focaliser sur l'ampleur des défis, se concentre sur la mince possibilité qui s'offre à eux. Ils ont découvert, ce faisant, qu'en s'aventurant dans cette voie, de nombreuses opportunités de contribution précieuse s'ouvrent à eux. Tant que vous n'aurez pas atteint ce stade, vous resterez obnubilé par l'impossibilité de la situation. Vous ne pourrez jamais atteindre vos objectifs en vous concentrant sur l'impossible.

WHO IS THE REAL YOU? - QUI ÊTES-VOUS VRAIMENT ?

No one imagines and builds pictures of someone they have never heard of or seen. Even that still requires spending a considerable amount of time with an individual to come up with conclusions about them. One chance meeting might create an impression but not enough to paint a picture. Before you can draw conclusions about someone that you have never seen, you would have met a lot of people people that know them and gotten information about them from various people enough to help you paint a picture. It is important for you to control the narrative about yourself at any meeting you have with people, not an imaginary version of you that you have created or a version of you that is derived from other people's opinion. Always make sure you present the real you that you want people to meet and interact with consistently. That way you are the same person no matter where you are at or who you are with. 

People do not just get impressions about us randomly, they form their impressions from what they have seen and or heard about us. Even when they hear something, it will be disclaimed or confirmed when they come in contact with us. The way you present yourself will be the foundation on which others build their perception of you. Some people call it vibes and other call it energy. You cannot meet with someone without leaving something behind. Once might not give them enough to work with but you eventually create a pattern that informs the decisions that other people make about you. You give off the scent and they follow the trail. Anytime you want to hide behind 'I don't know why they look at me that way', just check your scent.  

We have to help people know us and form the right impression about us without constantly making them to figure out which version of us is present at a particular moment. The version of you that comes to any meeting should be consistent in core values. You cannot juggle personalities and expect people to be able to understand and deal with you each time they are with you as they should with the personality that they have come to know. Even if they have been misinformed about you, you always have opportunities to correct that false impression. People who are not consistent in their core values and presence, often leave people with no choice than to create a picture that aligns with their own imagination of things. 

Work on the picture of yourself that you want the world to see and enjoy and be consistent in presenting that picture wherever you go. It might not be perfect, but it is real. Most times, people are not really looking for perfection, they are just looking for the authentic and consistent version of the individual. Be that person who helps others to understand who they are so that they are not disappointed when they bet on you.

Personne ne se fait une idée précise de quelqu'un qu'il n'a jamais vu ni dont il n'a jamais entendu parler. Même dans ce cas, il faut passer un temps considérable avec cette personne pour se faire une opinion. Une rencontre fortuite peut laisser une impression, mais pas suffisante pour dresser un portrait complet. Avant de pouvoir tirer des conclusions sur quelqu'un que l'on n'a jamais vu, il faut avoir rencontré de nombreuses personnes qui le connaissent et avoir recueilli des informations à son sujet auprès de diverses sources, suffisamment pour se faire une idée. Il est important de maîtriser le discours que l'on tient sur soi lors de toute rencontre, et non une version idéalisée ou une version basée sur l'opinion d'autrui. Veillez toujours à présenter la personne authentique avec laquelle vous souhaitez que les gens vous rencontrent et interagissent. Ainsi, vous restez la même personne, peu importe où vous êtes ou avec qui vous êtes.

Les gens ne se font pas une opinion de nous par hasard ; elles se fondent sur ce qu'ils ont vu ou entendu à notre sujet. Même ce qu'ils entendent est susceptible d'être infirmé ou confirmé lors d'un contact direct. La façon dont vous vous présentez constitue le fondement sur lequel les autres se basent pour vous percevoir. Certains parlent d'aura, d'autres d'énergie. On ne rencontre personne sans laisser une trace. Une seule fois, vous ne leur en donnez peut-être pas assez, mais vous finissez par créer une empreinte qui influence les décisions qu'ils prennent à votre sujet. Vous émettez une odeur, et ils suivent la piste. Si vous êtes tenté de vous cacher derrière un « Je ne sais pas pourquoi ils me regardent comme ça », il vous suffit de vous pencher sur votre propre odeur.

Nous devons aider les autres à nous connaître et à se faire une bonne impression, sans les obliger constamment à deviner quelle version de nous-mêmes nous présentons à un moment donné. La personne que vous présentez lors de chaque rencontre doit être cohérente dans ses valeurs fondamentales. Vous ne pouvez pas jongler avec différentes personnalités et espérer que les gens vous comprennent et interagissent avec vous à chaque fois, comme ils le feraient avec la personnalité qu'ils ont appris à connaître. Même s'ils ont eu une mauvaise impression de vous, vous avez toujours la possibilité de la corriger. Les personnes qui manquent de cohérence dans leurs valeurs fondamentales et leur comportement laissent souvent les autres face à une image qui correspond à leur propre vision des choses.

Travaillez sur l'image de vous-même que vous souhaitez projeter et véhiculez-la avec constance, où que vous soyez. Elle ne sera peut-être pas parfaite, mais elle sera authentique. La plupart du temps, les gens ne recherchent pas la perfection, mais simplement l'authenticité et la cohérence d'une personne. Soyez cette personne qui aide les autres à vous comprendre, afin qu'ils ne soient pas déçus lorsqu'ils vous font confiance.

We frequently come across people who think it is their job to fix everything. You might have good intentions, especially if you are around serious challenges that are making life difficult for yourself and other people. That burden can be pressing if you actually find yourself in such situations or environments and you have a heart to do something to make things better. But no matter how good your intentions, you are limited as to what contributions you can make as a single individual. You can even have unique talent and skills that can help, but that does not put you in a position to solve the problem by yourself. People have tried and failed not because they did not have good intentions or they did not know what to do. They have failed because they wanted to be superheroes. Every challenge requires a team. 

Stop behaving as if everything depended on you. Some of us are carrying weights that nobody asked us to carrying and no one is even appreciating us for carrying them. No matter how gifted you are, you a just a piece of the puzzle. Granted that you are a valuable piece, but that is all that you will ever be. You alone can never be the whole puzzle, so stop giving yourself to things that are sapping life out of you when you are capable of adding so much value if only you understood your uniqueness and the value of its place. You can add so much value if you could just understand your place and occupy it with excellence instead of trying to usurp the contributions and value of other people. There is strength in knowing and maintaining your space. 

What a combination of talents and skills can achieve can never be done by solo efforts. The ability to put together a team around your distinctive ability and contribution is what makes your contribution a solution. We cannot say because salt heightens the flavours of the other ingredients, it should be the sole ingredient. Your distinctive contribution is nothing without other contributions no matter how important it is. People either go solo out of ignorance or some do so because they do not want to share the glory of the success with anyone. Even the staff that keep the environment clean and orderly make it easier for the innovators and visionaries to do their job. A good team is indispensable to accomplishing any kind of vision. 

There is no insignificant role in a team. Every contribution is important. Every contribution might not have the same value in the grand scheme of things, but it does not mean that it is insignificant. Those who do not understand this principle are often the weakest links in the team. They make others spend valuable hours trying to straighten crooked lines that have been created by egotistic members of the team who believe that they are smart enough to achieve the goals on their own. For those who want to achieve great goals and make significant contributions, they have to know how to make room for others to excel in making their own contributions. You are either helping others and helping yourself or you are standing as an obstacle to other people that you might also end up tripping over. Your distinctive contribution is only as valuable as finding where it is to be needed in the grand scheme of things and making that contribution with excellence.

On rencontre souvent des gens qui pensent qu'il leur incombe de tout régler. Vos intentions sont peut-être bonnes, surtout si vous êtes confronté à de sérieuses difficultés qui vous compliquent la vie, à vous comme aux autres. Ce fardeau peut être lourd à porter si vous vous trouvez dans de telles situations et que vous souhaitez vraiment améliorer les choses. Mais quelles que soient vos bonnes intentions, votre contribution individuelle reste limitée. Vous pouvez même posséder des talents et des compétences uniques qui pourraient être utiles, mais cela ne vous permet pas de résoudre le problème seul. Si certains ont essayé et échoué, ce n'est pas par manque de bonnes intentions ou de compétences, mais parce qu'ils voulaient jouer les super-héros. Chaque défi exige une équipe.

Cessez de vous comporter comme si tout reposait sur vos épaules. Certains d'entre nous portent un fardeau que personne ne leur a demandé de porter, et personne ne les remercie pour cela. Aussi doués soyez-vous, vous n'êtes qu'une pièce du puzzle. Certes, vous êtes une pièce précieuse, mais vous ne serez jamais rien de plus. Vous ne pouvez jamais, à vous seul, résoudre l'énigme. Alors, cessez de vous épuiser dans des activités qui vous vident de votre énergie, alors que vous êtes capable d'apporter une valeur ajoutée considérable si seulement vous compreniez votre singularité et l'importance de votre rôle. Vous pouvez apporter une valeur inestimable si vous parveniez à comprendre votre place et à l'occuper avec excellence, au lieu d'essayer d'usurper les contributions et la valeur des autres. Il y a une force à connaître et à préserver son espace.

Ce qu'une combinaison de talents et de compétences peut accomplir ne peut jamais être réalisé par des efforts solitaires. La capacité à constituer une équipe autour de vos compétences et de votre contribution distinctives est ce qui transforme votre contribution en solution. On ne peut pas dire que, parce que le sel rehausse la saveur des autres ingrédients, il devrait être l'ingrédient unique. Votre contribution distinctive est vaine sans les autres contributions, aussi importante soit-elle. Certains agissent seuls par ignorance, d'autres parce qu'ils ne veulent partager la gloire du succès avec personne. Même le personnel qui maintient un environnement propre et ordonné facilite le travail des innovateurs et des visionnaires. Une bonne équipe est indispensable à la réalisation de toute vision.

 Dans une équipe, aucun rôle n'est insignifiant. Chaque contribution compte. Même si toutes n'ont pas la même valeur à l'échelle globale, elles n'en sont pas moins importantes. Ceux qui ignorent ce principe sont souvent les maillons faibles de l'équipe. Ils font perdre un temps précieux aux autres à tenter de redresser la situation, erreurs commises par des membres égocentriques qui se croient capables d'atteindre les objectifs seuls. Pour réussir et contribuer de manière significative, il est essentiel de savoir laisser aux autres l'opportunité d'exceller. Soit vous aidez les autres et vous vous aidez vous-même, soit vous faites obstacle et risquez de vous nuire. Votre contribution, aussi originale soit-elle, n'a de valeur que si elle trouve sa place dans le projet et si vous l'apportez avec excellence.

Continuous learning is needed in order to walk the path of excellence. No one has all the knowledge that they need about the journey that they are undertaking. People have been derailed because they refused to take constructive criticism. We understand that people can be mischievous and give malicious criticisms just to spite and discourage others, but that does not mean that we should do away completely with any form of criticism. Intelligence is proved by the capacity to accept input from other people without allowing them to change your vision and your process. This is built on the ability to distinguish between knowledge that is helpful and that which is not. 

We have people who are allergic to criticism, whether they are constructive or otherwise. They do not want any opinion other than the one they have because they believe that they are too intelligent to need additional information. It is even worse if the criticism is coming from someone they think is less qualified, exposed or experienced. It might even be something that they are personally questioning, but if it comes from someone else before they make up their minds, they will not accept it. For anyone who actually wants to be successful, criticism is a stony path that they should not mind to take so long as it leads them to their desired destination. No one is obligated to accept criticism but it is foolish to totally discountance an opinion without taking a close look at it. 

People who are too proud to see the good in constructive criticism end up making avoidable mistakes that will cost them a lot. Since no one has the exclusive rights to knowledge and no ones has the ability to see a matter in all its ramifications, it is always possible to go off the mark until someone else draws our attention to something we are missing or something that we are not seeing properly. As visionaries we must be open and humble enough to receive input from other people. Even if we do not initially agree, it will not do us any harm to accept and consider the other point of view. If we do not see its merits, we are free to drop it. 

Accepting criticism does not make you less intelligent, it is a virtue that can be developed to help us make better choices. If we are averse to criticism, it will make people who can prevent us from making costly mistakes to pull back and we can fall into ditches that we could have avoided. Criticism can be difficult to receive but we must understand that most remedies are bitter to swallow. We are not going to refuse needed help because the process is unpleasant. Sometimes, we need to come down from our high horses to walk a painful portion of the journey that is required to take us up to the mountain. No road to success is smooth.

Nous comprenons que la malice puisse pousser certaines personnes à formuler des critiques malveillantes dans le seul but de nuire et de décourager autrui, mais cela ne signifie pas pour autant qu'il faille bannir toute forme de critique. L'intelligence se manifeste par la capacité à accepter les contributions d'autrui sans se laisser influencer par elles, ni par ses méthodes. Cette capacité repose sur le discernement entre les connaissances utiles et celles qui ne le sont pas.

Certaines personnes sont allergiques à la critique, qu'elle soit constructive ou non. Elles refusent tout avis différent du leur, se croyant trop intelligentes pour avoir besoin d'informations supplémentaires. C'est encore pire si la critique provient d'une personne qu'elles jugent moins qualifiée, moins informée ou moins expérimentée. Il se peut même qu'elles remettent elles-mêmes en question un point, mais si la critique émane d'autrui avant qu'elles n'aient pris leur décision, elles la rejetteront. Pour quiconque aspire réellement au succès, la critique est un chemin semé d'embûches qu'il ne faut pas hésiter à emprunter, pourvu qu'il mène à son objectif. Nul n'est tenu d'accepter la critique, mais il est insensé de rejeter d'emblée une opinion sans l'examiner attentivement.

Ceux qui, par orgueil, ne voient pas le bon côté des critiques constructives, commettent des erreurs évitables qui leur coûteront cher. Puisque nul ne détient le monopole du savoir et que nul ne peut appréhender une question dans toute sa complexité, il est toujours possible de se tromper jusqu'à ce que quelqu'un attire notre attention sur un point qui nous échappe ou sur une erreur d'interprétation. En tant que visionnaires, nous devons être suffisamment ouverts et humbles pour recevoir les avis d'autrui. Même si nous ne sommes pas d'accord d'emblée, il est toujours bénéfique d'accepter et de considérer l'autre point de vue. Si nous n'en percevons pas la pertinence, nous sommes libres de l'abandonner.

Accepter la critique ne vous rend pas moins intelligent ; c'est une vertu qui se cultive et qui nous aide à faire de meilleurs choix. Si nous sommes réfractaires à la critique, ceux qui pourraient nous éviter des erreurs coûteuses risquent de se retirer, et nous pourrions tomber dans des pièges évitables. La critique est parfois difficile à accepter, mais il faut comprendre que la plupart des solutions sont amères. Nous n'allons pas refuser l'aide nécessaire simplement parce que le processus est désagréable. Il faut parfois mettre de côté son arrogance pour accomplir la partie la plus pénible du chemin qui nous mènera au sommet. Aucun chemin vers le succès n'est facile.

DO NOT MAKE MATTERS WORSE. - N'AGGRAVER PAS LA SITUATION.

It now sometimes feels like we have more solution providers that know 'exactly' how to fix things than we have ever had in human history. Everyone is on one platform or the other providing solutions to problems that they know little or nothing about because they see others making their own suggestions. Adding your voice to the discussion is not a bad thing, just make sure that your voice is valuable. It is annoying, if not frustrating, to talk about something that you do not have adequate information about. I have a personal experience and I was so embarrassed that it is now etched in my memory. It happened at an international conference and the participant from the country I was speaking about was so angry that I spent much time apologising and I still couldn't undo the damage. 

We have more people trying to proffer solutions to problems that they do not understand than those who are actually taking the pain to understand the problem and this ends up further complicating things. They sometimes escalate things and make them more difficult to resolve because they did not adequately understand the root cause. When plants are not totally uprooted from their base, they will sprout again and they can now assume postures that are neither good for the plant nor the farmer. Problems will mutate into forms that we may not understand because we ignorantly worked on solutions that were inappropriate. Always take time to get to the root cause before you start making contributions to the solution if you want those contributions to be valid and sustainable. 

Your intentions might be good but it does not mean that they are valid. You have to spend time, energy and if possible, resources to make sure that you understand the problem before you make your contribution to the solution. It is easy to criticise or give approval without fully understanding the problem only to be embarrassed at the end. The worst thing that can happen is you trying to defend something stupid. Immediately you discover that you are not on the right path, withdraw your solution. We need to learn to ask the right questions and investigate from all possible angles before we can understand in order to be able to come in with our contributions. 

We must not rush into situations as if we are competing to be the first to provide a solution. No matter how urgent the situation looks, we still need to spend time to understand the root causes so that we do not make things worse. It is better to come in when you are ready even if it looks like you are late than to complicate the process with your contributions. The time you spend in understanding the situation is never wasted, it is an investment that will be worth your time and energy.

On a parfois l'impression qu'il y a aujourd'hui plus de personnes qui prétendent savoir « exactement » comment tout régler que jamais auparavant. Chacun, sur une plateforme ou une autre, propose des solutions à des problèmes qu'il ne maîtrise pas, voire ignore, simplement parce qu'il voit d'autres personnes faire des suggestions. Participer à la discussion n'est pas une mauvaise chose en soi, à condition que votre contribution soit pertinente. Il est agaçant, voire frustrant, de parler de quelque chose que l'on ne connaît pas suffisamment. J'en ai fait l'expérience personnellement, et j'en suis encore profondément embarrassé. Cela s'est passé lors d'une conférence internationale : le participant du pays dont je parlais était tellement furieux que j'ai passé un temps fou à m'excuser, sans parvenir à réparer les dégâts.

On constate une surabondance de personnes qui tentent de proposer des solutions à des problèmes qu'elles ne comprennent pas, au détriment de celles qui prennent la peine de les comprendre. Ce qui ne fait que compliquer davantage les choses. Parfois, ces personnes aggravent les problèmes et les rendent plus difficiles à résoudre, faute d'en avoir compris la cause profonde. Lorsque les plantes ne sont pas complètement déracinées, elles repoussent et peuvent alors adopter des postures néfastes tant pour la plante que pour l'agriculteur. Les problèmes peuvent muter et prendre des formes que nous ne comprenons pas, car nous avons, par ignorance, travaillé sur des solutions inappropriées. Il est essentiel de prendre le temps d'en identifier la cause profonde avant de proposer une solution, si l'on souhaite que ses contributions soient pertinentes et durables.

Vos intentions sont peut-être bonnes, mais cela ne signifie pas qu'elles sont pertinentes. Il est indispensable de consacrer du temps, de l'énergie et, si possible, des ressources pour bien comprendre le problème avant d'apporter sa contribution. Il est facile de critiquer ou d'approuver sans bien comprendre le problème, pour ensuite se retrouver dans l'embarras. Le pire qui puisse arriver est de défendre une idée absurde. Dès que vous vous rendez compte que vous êtes sur la mauvaise voie, retirez votre solution. Nous devons apprendre à poser les bonnes questions et à examiner la situation sous tous ses angles afin de pouvoir apporter des solutions pertinentes.

Nous ne devons pas nous précipiter dans des situations comme si nous étions en compétition pour être les premiers à proposer une solution. Quelle que soit l'urgence apparente de la situation, il est essentiel de prendre le temps d'en comprendre les causes profondes afin de ne pas l'aggraver. Il est préférable d'intervenir lorsque vous êtes prêt, même si vous semblez en retard, plutôt que de compliquer inutilement le processus par vos contributions. Le temps que vous consacrez à la compréhension de la situation n'est jamais perdu : c'est un investissement qui portera ses fruits.

BUILD A STRONG PROFILE FOR YOURSELF. - CONSTRUISEZ-VOUS UN PROFIL SOLIDE DE VOUS-MÊME.

It is sad how many people allow what other people think about them to control the way they live. They give so much power to those who have not as much information as is required to have an opinion to control the narrative of their life. The dynamics of our personal life is our perogative and we should make sure that we are the ones controlling the narrative. We allow what other people think about us to determine how we live. We swing from one person's opinion to another and we become exhausted just trying to go from one day to another. No one can happily live and maximise their life without working from the premise of a personal knowledge that cannot be altered by what others think. When your foundation is built on a thorough understanding of who you are, you will stand on the faulty foundation of other people's opinion. 

Everybody has the right to an opinion and there is nothing we can do about that when it comes to how they are see us. They judge us from the information they have and the observations that they have made from interactions they have had with us. These are fragments that they piece together to arrive at their conclusions. No one understands you better than you understand yourself if you want to be honest with yourself. Many people deceive themselves because they do not want to be honest and face reality so they build false opinion about themselves. If you are honest with yourself, you will not be swayed by what other people think about you. 

We have to be bold enough to face ourselves squarely and work from the confidence of our opinion about ourselves. That does not mean that we should totally discountance what other people think about us but that must be measured against our own opinion. If you walk in confidence, people will be more careful about the kind of opinion they bring to you about yourself because they know that whatever they say will be scrutinised. They know they cannot walk all over you. What people think about you is largely influenced by how they perceive you from their interactions with you. Build your confidence by thinking positively and honestly about yourself. You do not need others to boost your self-confidence because that will mean that you are constantly looking to people's opinions for validation. Build a picture of yourself and update it regularly to help you stay on top of your game.

Il est triste de constater combien de personnes laissent le regard des autres dicter leur vie. Elles donnent un pouvoir démesuré à ceux qui, sans disposer des informations nécessaires pour se forger une opinion, dictent le cours de leur existence. La dynamique de notre vie personnelle nous appartient et nous devons veiller à en maîtriser le récit. Nous laissons l'opinion d'autrui influencer nos choix de vie. Nous passons d'une opinion à l'autre et nous nous épuisons à la simple idée de survivre au quotidien. Nul ne peut vivre pleinement et sereinement sans se fonder sur une connaissance de soi inébranlable, indépendante de l'opinion d'autrui. Si votre identité repose sur une compréhension profonde de vous-même, elle ne saurait reposer sur les fondements fragiles de l'opinion des autres.

Chacun a le droit à son opinion et nous n'y pouvons rien quant à la façon dont les autres nous perçoivent. Ils nous jugent à partir des informations dont ils disposent et des observations tirées de leurs interactions avec nous. Ce ne sont que des fragments qu'ils assemblent pour parvenir à leurs conclusions. Si vous êtes honnête avec vous-même, personne ne vous comprend mieux. Nombreux sont ceux qui se mentent à eux-mêmes par refus d'honnêteté et de confrontation avec la réalité, se forgeant ainsi une fausse image d'eux-mêmes. En étant honnête avec vous-même, vous ne serez pas facilement influencé par le regard des autres.

Il faut oser se regarder en face et agir en toute confiance. Cela ne signifie pas ignorer totalement l'opinion d'autrui, mais la confronter à la nôtre. Si vous agissez avec assurance, les autres seront plus attentifs à leurs propos, sachant qu'ils seront scrutés. Ils savent qu'ils ne peuvent pas vous marcher dessus. L'opinion que les autres se font de vous est largement influencée par la façon dont ils vous perçoivent à travers vos interactions. Cultivez votre confiance en pensant positivement et honnêtement à vous-même. Nul besoin du regard des autres pour avoir confiance en soi, car cela reviendrait à rechercher constamment leur validation. Construisez-vous une image positive de vous-même et mettez-la à jour régulièrement pour rester au sommet de votre forme.

ASSUMPTIONS MAY NOT BE FACTS. - LES SUPPOSITIONS NE SONT PAS DES FAITS.

Some people feel that they are too knowledgeable to ask questions especially when they have to verify something from someone who they are higher than in educational or social status. Others are too shy to ask while some are too lazy to ask. Whatever the reason is, we have to understand that we need others to fully understand the world around us. Knowledge is not the exclusive right of any one individual. Even if you believe that your opinion about something is right, there is no harm in cross checking before you conclude on any matter especially if it is a decision that could alter the course of your life or that of others. 

People have made life changing decisions based on assumptions and have gone on to live with regrets. Just one simple question can save us from dealing with long term pain and regret. Even when you think you know, it is still important to double check before you make up your mind about something you are not one percent confident about. Unfortunately, many people assume that they know and they are too sure of themselves about something that they do not have adequate information about only to be wrong in the final analysis. Always ask questions even if there is just an inkling of doubt.  

Information is currently available from multiple sources and most times, you can get it at your fingertips. Authenticating information before you make a decision is never a waste of time even if you eventually find out that you were right all along. People are assuming things and hurting themselves and others. We are drawing conclusions based on assumptions that are causing us to waste time and energy and even making us lose valuable opportunities. Relationships have been destroyed because of decisions made on false or inadequate information. Business deals and partnerships have been lost to assumptions. 

No two situations are ever exactly the same even if the people involved are the same. We must avoid using blanket assumptions drawn from some conclusions especially from profiling. Always isolate cases and deal with them on their own merits. Try to set aside asummed conclusions and profiles and enter each situation with a clear slate so that your decisions are not coloured by residual information. You can be cautious but do not allow caution blindside you from the individual merits of any situation. You can still keep an open mind while being cautious. Before you make any major decisions, be sure that you are coming from a place of facts not assumptions.

D'autres sont trop timides, voire trop paresseuses. Quelle qu'en soit la raison, il est essentiel de comprendre que nous avons besoin des autres pour appréhender pleinement le monde qui nous entoure. Le savoir n'est pas l'apanage d'un seul individu. Même si vous êtes convaincu d'avoir raison, il est toujours judicieux de vérifier vos sources avant de prendre une décision, surtout s'il s'agit d'une décision susceptible de bouleverser votre vie ou celle d'autrui.

Nombreux sont ceux qui ont pris des décisions cruciales sur la base de suppositions et qui l'ont ensuite regretté. Une simple question peut nous épargner bien des souffrances et des regrets. Même lorsque l'on pense savoir, il est important de vérifier ses informations avant de se prononcer sur un sujet dont on n'est absolument pas sûr. Malheureusement, beaucoup de gens se croient infaillibles et sont trop sûrs d'eux sur des sujets qu'ils ne maîtrisent pas, pour finalement se tromper. Posez toujours des questions, même en cas de simple doute.

 L'information est aujourd'hui accessible de multiples sources et, la plupart du temps, à portée de main. Vérifier l'information avant de prendre une décision n'est jamais une perte de temps, même si l'on découvre par la suite que l'on avait raison depuis le début. Les gens font des suppositions et se nuisent à eux-mêmes et aux autres. Nous tirons des conclusions hâtives basées sur des suppositions, ce qui nous fait perdre du temps et de l'énergie, et même nous prive d'opportunités précieuses. Des relations ont été brisées par des décisions prises sur la base d'informations fausses ou insuffisantes. Des accords commerciaux et des partenariats ont été perdus à cause de suppositions.

Deux situations ne sont jamais exactement identiques, même si les personnes impliquées sont les mêmes. Il faut éviter de tirer des conclusions hâtives, notamment celles issues de profils préétablis. Il est essentiel d'isoler chaque cas et de l'examiner individuellement. Essayez de mettre de côté les conclusions et les profils préconçus et d'aborder chaque situation avec un esprit ouvert, afin que vos décisions ne soient pas influencées par des informations résiduelles. La prudence est de mise, mais elle ne doit pas vous empêcher d'apprécier les spécificités de chaque situation. On peut rester ouvert d'esprit tout en étant prudent. Avant de prendre toute décision importante, assurez-vous de vous baser sur des faits et non sur des suppositions.

We cannot afford to give away the very quality that differentiates us from other living things. The human brain functions well in places of solitude. Most thoughts are meant to be processed and this helps to develop our brains. People who spend time to think have a robust thought process that helps them to see different angles of a subject matter. They spend time to analyse before they make conclusions. Thinking is an art that should be developed through knowledge and its application. That is something that many people run away from because it takes time and it requires that we be silent and cut ourselves from distractions. Most people no longer want that kind of process. People are now drawing conclusions on matters that they do not have enough information on and have not spent time to process.

The very thought of solitude makes a lot of people nervous. They do not know what to do with themselves at such moments. These moments have become scarce because there is always something to help us avoid them. The major effect of this is not far fetched; most people are no longer spending time to think. Even those that have such brief moments are actually thinking of how to quickly come out of them. Conversations no longer have depth, we now live in a copy and paste world of quotes and memes. Until you spend time to think through, your contributions to meaningful conversations will be minimal if not useless.

Many people now depend on the clips that other people have made available without taking time to look at a matter in its full ramifications. No wonder arguments abound all over social media platforms where people blatantly display their ignorance. For those who take time precious time to read comments, I believe they come out even more confused than they were before they started reading. Anyone that wants to develop themselves must enjoy periods of solitude. It is in those times that you can analyse matters and come out with meaningful conclusions that you can defend and also use to help other people stay knowledgeable and develop.

If you cannot be quiet and think, you cannot develop yourself and be useful to others. The distractions these days have drastically increased and it is becoming increasingly difficult to get people with whom we can have conversations that will help our mental development. For those who want to have and apply knowledge in a meaningful way for themselves and others, they have to learn to create those moments that help them process their thoughts without unwanted distractions.

La plupart des pensées sont faites pour être traitées, ce qui contribue à son développement. Ceux qui prennent le temps de réfléchir développent une pensée robuste qui leur permet d'envisager un sujet sous différents angles. Ils analysent avant de tirer des conclusions. Penser est un art qui se cultive par la connaissance et son application. Or, beaucoup fuient cette démarche car elle est chronophage et exige du silence et s'isoler des distractions. La plupart des gens rejettent désormais ce processus. Ils tirent des conclusions hâtives sur des sujets qu'ils ne maîtrisent pas suffisamment et qu'ils n'ont pas pris le temps d'approfondir.

La simple idée de solitude angoisse nombre de personnes. Elles ne savent comment occuper leur temps. Ces moments se font rares, car nous trouvons toujours un moyen de les éviter. La conséquence majeure est évidente : la plupart des gens ne prennent plus le temps de réfléchir. Même ceux qui s'accordent ces brefs instants de solitude cherchent avant tout à les fuir. Les conversations manquent de profondeur ; nous vivons désormais dans un monde de citations et de mèmes copiés-collés. Sans réflexion approfondie, vos contributions aux discussions constructives resteront minimes, voire inutiles.

Nombreux sont ceux qui se contentent de visionner des extraits vidéo mis en ligne par d'autres, sans prendre le temps d'examiner un sujet dans toute sa complexité. Il n'est donc pas étonnant que les disputes pullulent sur les réseaux sociaux, où l'ignorance est étalée au grand jour. Ceux qui consacrent un temps précieux à la lecture des commentaires en ressortent, à mon avis, encore plus confus qu'avant. Quiconque souhaite se développer doit s'accorder des moments de solitude. C'est dans ces moments-là que l'on peut analyser les choses et tirer des conclusions pertinentes, que l'on peut défendre et partager avec autrui pour enrichir ses connaissances et progresser.

Si l'on ne parvient pas à se taire et à réfléchir, il est impossible de se développer et d'être utile aux autres. Les distractions se sont multipliées et il devient de plus en plus difficile de trouver des personnes avec qui avoir des conversations enrichissantes pour notre développement intellectuel. Pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent acquérir et mettre en pratique des connaissances de manière constructive, pour eux-mêmes et pour autrui, il est essentiel d'apprendre à créer des moments propices à la réflexion, sans distractions indésirables.
