Change is always a huge subject, but what actually are you looking at when you talk about change? Is it love for self-aggrandizement or love for the good of the patrimony because this will determine how much you are ready to sacrifice to get that change you desire. Beginning with the amount of money we will make and the life of luxury we could live in order to be better than everyone else, this self-aggrandizement is the greatest obstacle to fulfilling a sustainable vision of quality change. In the African continent there seems to be this push to prove that we can live our lives in such a way that will put people in the developed world to shame. Against this backdrop, we continually strive to work all we can and spend all we earn to acquire all the luxuries of life. This way we can surround ourselves with all the latest technological gadgets to prove a point to people around us who really don’t care about us for the most part. By the time we realise that there is more to be done in life to make a difference and be truly satisfied, there is this nagging feeling that weighs us down of having missed out on the change that we thought we desired. It might then be too late actually pursue what is most important in life because our lifestyle might have changed but we have added no real value to others. We were too engulfed with ourselves to be oblivious of the stagnation and deterioration around us. It is said that it is better late than never. No matter how far we go on the wrong road we can never arrive at the right destination but it is never too late for us to do something about it. We can always decide to make a U-turn and start working on our dreams so that we can contribute our quota to humanity and add value to our landscape no matter what amount of time we have left. It may mean that you do not see the effect of your contribution before you leave the stage but your decision would help another person to start on the right path. Le changement est toujours un sujet énorme, mais que regardez-vous réellement lorsque vous parlez de changement? De cette façon, nous pouvons nous entourer de tous les derniers gadgets technologiques pour prouver un point aux gens autour de nous qui ne se soucient vraiment pas de nous pour la plupart. Au moment où nous nous rendons compte qu'il y a plus à faire dans la vie pour faire une différence pour être vraiment satisfaits, il y a ce sentiment lancinant qui nous pèse d'avoir raté le changement que nous pensions que nous voulions. Il est alors peut-être trop tard pour poursuivre ce qui est le plus important dans la vie, car notre mode de vie a peut-être changé mais nous n'avons ajouté aucune valeur réelle aux autres. Nous étions trop engloutis par nous-mêmes pour être inconscients de la stagnation et de la détérioration autour de nous. On dit qu'il vaut mieux tard que jamais. Peu importe jusqu'où nous allons sur la mauvaise route, nous ne pouvons jamais arriver à la bonne destination, mais il n'est jamais trop tard pour nous faire quelque chose. Nous pouvons toujours décider de faire demi-tour et de commencer à travailler sur nos rêves afin que nous puissions contribuer notre quote-part à l'humanité et ajouter de la valeur à notre paysage, quel que soit le temps qu'il nous reste. Cela peut signifier que vous ne voyez pas l'effet de votre contribution avant de quitter la scène, mais votre décision aiderait une autre personne à s'engager sur la bonne voie. Commencez simplement là où vous êtes, faites ce que vous pouvez de votre mieux et vous aurez un impact que vous n'auriez jamais imaginé pouvoir. Passez une journée très agréable!
