YOU CANNOT BE DISLOCATED AND DO SOMETHING SUSTAINABLE. - ON NE PEUT PAS ÊTRE DÉPLACÉ ET FAIRE QUELQUE CHOSE DE DURABLE.

Everyone should be able to know where to start and also have a clear destination in mind when they decide to pursue a vision. Life itself should have a pathway that we can follow intentionally, if not, we will just go wherever life takes us without any definite destinations in mind. Many factors are responsible for making this perspective possible. Because many people do not understand this perspective, it becomes difficult to chart a course to follow. One of the important factors that often causes this kind of approach to life is not having a definite starting point. In this case, not knowing your roots. When we do not have a good knowledge of our background, it makes it difficult for us to understand who we are and how to navigate life to achieve what we want. 

There are some issues that just resonate with you because of your experiences. This is one of such. As an African, this is something that will not take a lot of explanation to understand if you are being honest with yourself. Many Africans have been plucked from their roots and as a result, they do not care where they are going. So long as it is something that appeals to them, they go for it and this decision is usually based on survival. Many decisions in these parts are not based on purpose, they might speak about it but it is usually not on the front burner. Many Africans have ended up with lives they would never have chosen if they actually understood where they were coming from. They are too dislocated from where they are coming from and they really do not care where they are going so long as they are living a life that is slightly beyond survival. 

When we cannot clearly define the background that we come from, living with intention becomes difficult because there is no identifiable foundation on which to build our life. We lack a sense of loyalty. We do not feel responsible to any collective cause which helps us to see the importance of our contributions to any particular affiliation. We are often thinking of how life will benefit us rather than what will be useful to the society in general. We can plug into any collective cause we find not because we are loyal to it but because we will benefit from it. We do not care about any specific outcomes so long as we have something to gain.

 People who care about their goals always have a strong footing in their roots. There is a foundation that they have laid that helps them to understand the goal and keep their eyes on it. A life of purpose has a thread that runs from the starting point to the finish line. Even when life presents detours, those who know where they are going, know where to return to in order to still arrive at the desired destination. They do not approach life carelessly, they are very intentional.

Chacun devrait savoir par où commencer et avoir une destination claire en tête lorsqu'il décide de poursuivre une vision. La vie elle-même devrait offrir un chemin que nous pouvons suivre intentionnellement ; sinon, nous irons là où elle nous mènera, sans but précis. De nombreux facteurs expliquent cette situation. Comme beaucoup ne la comprennent pas, il devient difficile de tracer une voie à suivre. L'un des principaux facteurs à l'origine de cette approche de la vie est l'absence de point de départ défini, c'est-à-dire, dans ce cas précis, l'ignorance de ses racines. Lorsque nous ignorons nos origines, il nous est difficile de comprendre qui nous sommes et comment orienter notre vie pour atteindre nos objectifs.

Certains sujets résonnent particulièrement en nous en raison de nos expériences personnelles. C'est le cas de celui-ci. En tant qu'Africain, il est facile de le comprendre si l'on est honnête avec soi-même. Nombre d'Africains ont été déracinés et, de ce fait, leur avenir leur importe peu. Tant que quelque chose leur plaît, ils s'y lancent, et cette décision est généralement motivée par la survie. Dans ces régions, beaucoup de décisions ne sont pas guidées par un but précis ; on peut en parler, mais ce n'est généralement pas une priorité. Nombre d'Africains se retrouvent à mener une vie qu'ils n'auraient jamais choisie s'ils avaient vraiment compris d'où ils viennent. Ils sont trop déconnectés de leurs origines et se soucient peu de leur avenir, du moment qu'ils survivent tant que leur vie dépasse légèrement le simple stade de la survie.

Quand on ne peut pas définir clairement ses origines, vivre avec un but devient difficile, car il n'y a pas de fondement identifiable sur lequel construire sa vie. On manque de loyauté. On ne se sent responsable d'aucune cause collective, ce qui nous empêche de percevoir l'importance de nos contributions à une organisation particulière. On pense souvent à ce que la vie nous apportera plutôt qu'à ce qui sera utile à la société en général. On s'engage dans n'importe quelle cause collective, non par loyauté, mais par intérêt personnel. On ne se soucie pas des résultats précis, tant qu'on y trouve son compte.

 Les personnes qui ont à cœur leurs objectifs ont toujours des racines solides. Elles ont posé des fondations qui les aident à comprendre leur but et à rester concentrées dessus. Une vie guidée par un but précis est un fil conducteur qui la relie du point de départ à la ligne d'arrivée. Même lorsque la vie réserve des détours, ceux qui savent où ils vont savent où revenir pour atteindre leur destination. Ils n'abordent pas la vie à la légère, mais avec une grande détermination.

We have to be comfortable in a space where we understand that whatever happens to us

on the long run, rises or falls squarely on our shoulders. This means you will look at your life to find what you have that can make your life worth living with intention and purpose because no one is without that kind of worth.

It may be actually difficult to be objective about your valuation of what is really important but you owe yourself that duty. The truth of the matter is that once you can get over the fear of being honest with yourself, the rest will be a lot easier to handle. Life usually gives us all many opportunities to confront ourselves.

However, we are faced with so many options these days that many would rather design the kind of personality they think will be more acceptable rather than be themselves. They then try to adapt and work from that space. The problem with that is that it pushes them from acknowledging and accepting who they are and puts pressure on them to put

on performances that make life difficult and often unbearable. Popular culture is making things more appealing with regards to how people see themselves and has designed “more acceptable” boxes that people try to fit into. The unfortunate thing is that more people are working very hard to fit into these

boxes without ever paying any attention to their uniqueness. As a result, they miss out on the beautiful and more fulfilling lives they could actually build for themselves if they took the pain of figuring out who they are.

 There is no doubt about the fact that if you understand who you are it will go a long way in helping you appreciate what you have to work with to make your unique contributions. With technology and virtual living becoming more popular by the day, we now have many avenues to see and even experience other people’s lives. Everyone needs to endeavour to spend time to discover who they really are before they get swamped by all the other alternatives that are being projected out there. 

What we tend to forget is that people will always put their best foot forward because no one actually wants to wash their dirty linen in public. With the help of technology, it is getting much easier to add a lot of pecks to this supposed best foot and there always seems to be more than meets the eye. Amazingly, many of us get to a point where we forget that we are all humans which means we all have our strengths and weaknesses. This though does not always seem to be the case with celebrity adoration and image worship. The only way to be comfortable in who you are is to look at life through honest lenses. This way you will be in a position to make objective decisions. Celebrities have managers that promote them in a way that is not available to the average individual. If you want to model you your life after them, it will most probably end in frustration because you will not be privy to all the behind the scenes happenings.

Nous devons nous sentir à l'aise dans un espace où nous comprenons que, quoi qu'il nous arrive à long terme, notre responsabilité nous incombe entièrement. Cela signifie que vous examinerez votre vie pour trouver ce que vous possédez qui peut lui donner un sens et une raison d'être, car personne n'est dépourvu de cette valeur. Il peut être difficile d'être objectif quant à l'évaluation de ce qui est vraiment important, mais vous vous devez ce devoir. En réalité, une fois que vous aurez surmonté la peur d'être honnête avec vous-même, le reste sera beaucoup plus facile à gérer. La vie nous offre généralement de nombreuses occasions de nous confronter à nous-mêmes.

Cependant, nous sommes confrontés à tellement d'options de nos jours que beaucoup préfèrent se construire une personnalité qu'ils jugent plus acceptable plutôt que d'être eux-mêmes. Ils tentent ensuite de s'adapter et d'agir en fonction de cette nouvelle image. Le problème, c'est que

cela les empêche de reconnaître et d'accepter qui ils sont et les pousse à jouer des rôles qui rendent la vie difficile, voire insupportable. La culture populaire embellit la façon dont les gens se perçoivent et a créé des cases « plus acceptables » dans lesquelles ils tentent de se conformer. Malheureusement, de plus en plus de gens s'efforcent d'entrer dans ces cases sans jamais prêter attention à leur singularité. Par conséquent, ils passent à côté d'une vie plus riche et plus épanouissante qu'ils pourraient construire s'ils prenaient la peine de découvrir qui ils sont.

Il est indéniable que se comprendre soi-même permet d'apprécier pleinement ses atouts et d'apporter sa contribution unique. Avec la popularisation croissante des technologies et du virtuel, nous avons désormais de nombreuses possibilités de voir, voire de vivre, la vie des autres. Chacun devrait s'efforcer de prendre le temps de découvrir sa véritable identité avant d'être submergé par toutes les alternatives qui lui sont proposées.

On a tendance à oublier que les gens se présentent toujours sous leur meilleur jour, car personne n'a envie d'exposer ses problèmes en public. Grâce à la technologie, il est de plus en plus facile d'embellir cette image et il semble toujours y avoir plus qu'il n'y paraît. Étonnamment, nombreux sont ceux qui en arrivent à oublier que nous sommes tous humains, avec nos forces et nos faiblesses. Ce n'est pourtant pas toujours le cas avec l'adoration des célébrités et le culte de leur image. La seule façon d'être bien dans sa peau est de regarder la vie avec lucidité. Ainsi, on peut prendre des décisions objectives. Les célébrités ont des agents qui les promeuvent d'une manière inaccessible au commun des mortels. Si vous voulez calquer votre vie sur la leur, vous risquez fort d'être déçu, car vous n'aurez pas accès aux coulisses.

Passion and desire will be tested. It is easy to talk about passion and commitment but very difficult to live a life that is consistent with those principles. Enthusiasm is high during some periods of the life of the visionary, but most times, it is really low. The pursuit of a successful vision is a slow painstaking journey that requires consistent hard work and excellence. These are not emotional issues, they are definite and consciencous efforts and actions that are taken to ensure that success is achieved. These efforts should continue irrespective of whether people appreciate what you are doing or not. This is a journey where the visionary makes up his/her mind to stay the course even if they hear or see no applause. 

People who are comfortable doing something with excellence when no one is watching, will be successful in spite of challenges. If you can give your vision your best before anyone recognises your efforts, you will go far in your pursuit. Many people just want to be known, so they pay more attention to immediate validation than they do to excellence. These people might succeed for sometime but that success will not be able to stand the test of time. The work of excellent people announce them, but people who are seeking applause, look for ways to announce themselves even before their work is finished. Sustainable success does not rely on aggressive branding, it relies on excellence. 

No one can ignore excellence because its results will speak for themselves. Those who know how to take control of periods of isolation and obscurity, will definitely reach a point where no one can ignore it. The fruits of excellence will be obvious to the public even when the work was not noticeable during the hard work that was going on under the soil in obscurity. We must make up our minds not to pursue recognition and popularity when we should be thinking of how to give our best to our work, if we actually want to make a difference. Applause should be a result of success and not the way around. People who want to achieve something significant sustainable should not look for shortcuts that help them avoid those important experiences periods where there is just the audience of one. As a visionary, how well do you handle this time?

La passion et le désir seront mis à l'épreuve. Il est facile de parler de passion et d'engagement, mais très difficile de vivre une vie conforme à ces principes. L'enthousiasme est parfois intense dans la vie du visionnaire, mais le plus souvent, il est au plus bas. La poursuite d'une vision réussie est un chemin long et ardu qui exige un travail acharné et constant, ainsi que l'excellence. Il ne s'agit pas de questions émotionnelles, mais d'efforts et d'actions concrets et conscients, entrepris pour garantir le succès. Nombreux sont ceux qui recherchent la reconnaissance immédiate au détriment de l'excellence. Ces personnes peuvent connaître un succès éphémère, mais celui-ci ne résistera pas à l'épreuve du temps. Le travail des personnes exceptionnelles les fait connaître, mais celles qui recherchent les applaudissements cherchent à se faire remarquer avant même d'avoir terminé leur travail. Un succès durable ne repose pas sur un marketing agressif, mais sur l'excellence.

Nul ne peut ignorer l'excellence, car ses résultats parlent d'eux-mêmes. Ceux qui savent gérer les périodes d'isolement et d'ombre atteindront assurément un niveau où leur succès sera incontestable. Les fruits de l'excellence seront visibles de tous, même si le travail accompli dans l'ombre est resté invisible. Nous devons nous résoudre à ne pas rechercher la reconnaissance et la popularité alors que nous devrions réfléchir à la manière de donner le meilleur de nous-mêmes dans notre travail, si nous voulons réellement faire la différence. Ceux qui veulent accomplir quelque chose d'important et de durable ne devraient pas chercher de raccourcis qui leur permettent d'éviter ces périodes d'expériences cruciales où ils n'ont qu'un seul spectateur. Ceux qui aspirent à un accomplissement significatif et durable ne doivent pas chercher de raccourcis pour éviter ces périodes cruciales où l'on est seul face à soi. En tant que visionnaire, comment gérez-vous cette période ?
