LIFE HAS A WAY OF REWARDING RESILIENCE. - LA VIE A UN MOYEN DE RÉCOMPENSER LA RÉSILIENCE.

I believe if we knew the importance of obstacles, we won’t dread them so much as we do. What people have overcome because of the obstacles that they have confronted which tried to stop them is priceless. I always tell people that driving through a smooth highway without speed limits or any other instruments to control speed is a very dangerous thing to do because that cruise might maim or kill them. The interesting thing is that people expect such “hiccups” on physical highways but find it unthinkable that they will be present in the journey of life. There are things that make us better and more mature people that our character development needs and most of that can only be developed through difficult encounters. As we pursue life’s purposes, it is impossible to avoid obstacles and many times these obstacles can stop us in our tracks or force us to take another route. The way we handle such obstacles determine how much we will learn and grow. The problem is not with the “road blocks” but it is how we respond to them that will determine the outcome of our journey. When a lot of people hit these road blocks, they just give up and go back to status quo. Some will even congratulate themselves for making the attempt forgetting that medals are given to only those who finish and not to those who try. According to the common saying, when there is a will there is a way. However, we must also add that for there to be a will there has to be an understanding of purpose. If there is nothing to fight for, the will to search and persevere until a way is found will not be present. There are obstacles that are so huge that even your best fans will advise you to give up, but history has proven that even these kinds of "road blocks" have given way to people who stay long enough to determine a way forward. Life has a way of rewarding those who refuse to give up. When you get to an overwhelming obstacle, it is time to pause and look at all the options to enable you determine what step to take next. Many do not overcome because they are in a hurry to succeed, so they would rather find something else that is faster and easier. Those who understand that purpose is key to life and to success will give the time, commitment and perseverance that is required to achieve that purpose. Je crois que si nous connaissons l’importance des obstacles, nous ne les redouterons pas autant que nous le faisons. Ce que les gens ont surmonté à cause des obstacles auxquels ils ont été confrontés et qui ont tenté de les arrêter n'a pas de prix. Je dis toujours aux gens que conduire sur une autoroute lisse sans limites de vitesse ou sans aucun autre instrument pour contrôler la vitesse est une chose très dangereuse à faire car cette croisière pourrait les mutiler ou les tuer. Ce qui est intéressant, c'est que les gens s'attendent à de tels «hoquet» sur les autoroutes physiques mais le trouvent impensable qu'ils soient présents dans le voyage de la vie. Il y a des choses dont le développement de notre caractère en a besoin qui font de nous des personnes meilleures et plus matures et la plupart de ceux-ci ne peuvent se développer que par des rencontres difficiles. Alors que nous poursuivons les objectifs de la vie, il est impossible d’éviter les obstacles et bien souvent, ces obstacles peuvent nous arrêter sur nos traces ou nous forcer à emprunter une autre voie. La façon dont nous gérons ces obstacles détermine combien nous allons apprendre et grandir. Le problème ne vient pas des «barrages routiers», mais c'est la façon dont nous y répondons qui déterminera le résultat de notre voyage. Lorsque beaucoup de gens se heurtent à ces barrages routiers, ils abandonnent tout simplement et retournent au statu quo. Certains se féliciteront même d'avoir fait la tentative en oubliant que les médailles ne sont données qu'à ceux qui terminent et non à ceux qui essaient. Selon le dicton commun, quand il y a une volonté, il y a un moyen. Cependant, nous devons également ajouter que pour qu'il y ait une volonté, il doit y avoir une compréhension du but. S'il n'y a rien pour quoi se battre, la volonté de chercher et de persévérer jusqu'à ce qu'une voie soit trouvée ne sera pas présente. Il y a des obstacles si énormes que même vos meilleurs fans vous conseilleront d'abandonner, mais l'histoire a prouvé que même ces types de "barrages routiers" ont cédé la place à des personnes qui restent assez longtemps pour déterminer une voie à suivre. La vie a une manière de récompenser ceux qui refusent d'abandonner. Lorsque vous arrivez à un obstacle écrasant, il est temps de faire une pause et d'examiner toutes les options pour vous permettre de déterminer la prochaine étape à franchir. Beaucoup ne parviennent pas à surmonter parce qu'ils sont pressés de réussir, alors ils préfèrent trouver autre chose qui soit plus rapide et plus facile. Ceux qui comprennent que l'objectif est la clé dans la vie et du succès donneront le temps, l'engagement et la persévérance nécessaires pour atteindre cet objectif. DO WE SWIM TOWARDS THE BOAT OR WE WAIT FOR IT? - DEVONS NOUS NAGER VERS LE BATEAU OU NOUS DEVONS L'ATTENDRES?

Most times in life, the issue is not that people do not know that they need a way (the boat) to get to where they are going, the challenge is how to get into the boat; should we wait for the boat to come to us or should we brave it and swim towards it. We agree that it is possible to wait, however, the problem is that the waves of the sea might not allow the boat to reach us quick enough for us to arrive at our destination before OUR ONE LIFETIME EXPIRES. It is for this reason that wise people who have made the journey of life with some success have advised us to swim towards the boat once we figure out that there might be a delay. I was working with a youth some years ago who believed that he had a work to do with teenagers as his contribution to humanity. He wasn’t interested in doing something else and he didn’t even have the resources to go further in his educational pursuit or fund his vision. In these parts, this is a very familiar scenario and it can either shut the individual down completely or push them to heights never imagined. After working with this individual, who was pretty frustrated by now for some time, I told him to swim towards the boat. In this case, I asked him to prepare a plan on how he could go to secondary schools and ask to have pep talks with the students during the morning assembly sessions. I wasn’t asking him to do what others have not done before but that was the last time he came to me. There are people who do not want to do the swimming, they would rather that others help them bring the boat to shore. The problem with this is that even when someone helps them to bring the boat, they will expect that person or another to help them drive the boat while they sit and give directions. The best we can do is tell people what to do and how they can achieve their dreams, if we go over board and steer the boat, they will give up their dreams and follow us wherever we steer the boat. The danger is that when that happens, we will likely leave our own dreams behind and neither we nor they will arrive at our desired destination. Do have a beautiful weekend!

La plupart du temps dans la vie, le problème n'est pas que les gens ne savent pas qu'ils ont besoin d'un moyen (le bateau) pour se rendre là où ils vont, le défi est de savoir comment monter dans le bateau; devrions-nous attendre que le bateau vienne à nous ou devrions-nous le braver et nager vers lui. Nous sommes d;accord qu'il est possible d'attendre, cependant, le problème est que les vagues de la mer pourraient ne pas permettre au bateau de nous atteindre assez rapidement pour que nous arrivions à destination avant que NOTRE SEULE EXISTENCE EXPIRE. C'est pour cette raison que des sages qui ont fait le voyage de la vie avec un certain succès nous ont conseillé de nager vers le bateau une fois que nous avons compris qu'il pourrait y avoir un retard. Il y a quelques années, je travaillais avec un jeune qui pensait qu'il avait un travail à faire avec les adolescents comme sa contribution à l'humanité. Il n’était pas intéressé à faire autre chose et il n’avait même pas les ressources nécessaires pour aller plus loin dans ses études ou financer sa vision. Dans ces parties, il s'agit d'un scénario très familier et il peut soit arrêter complètement l'individu, soit le pousser à des hauteurs jamais imaginées. Après avoir travaillé avec cet individu, qui était assez frustré depuis un certain temps, je lui ai dit de nager vers le bateau. Dans ce cas, je lui ai demandé de préparer un plan sur la façon dont il pourrait aller dans les écoles secondaires et demander à avoir des entretiens d'encouragement avec les élèves pendant les séances de l'assemblée du matin. Je ne lui demandais pas de faire ce que d’autres n’avaient pas fait auparavant, mais c’était la dernière fois qu’il est venu me voir. Il y a des gens qui ne veulent pas nager, ils préfèrent que d'autres les aident à amener le bateau à terre. Le problème avec ceci est que même si quelqu'un les aide à apporter le bateau, ils s'attendront à ce que cette personne ou une autre les aide à conduire le bateau pendant qu'ils s'assoient et donnent des instructions. Le mieux que nous puissions faire est de dire aux gens quoi faire et comment ils peuvent réaliser leurs rêves, si nous passons au-delà et nous dirigons le bateau, ils abandonneront leurs rêves et nous suivront partout où nous dirigeons le bateau. Le danger est que lorsque cela se produit, nous abandonnerons probablement nos propres rêves et ni nous ni eux n'arriverons à la destination souhaitée. Passez un beau week-end!
