We normally talk about the high and low points in life. Both of these can be a sticky point for many. There are events or moments that are so intense in our lives that we always remember them no matter how far they are in our past. Some are moments that we would rather forget and others are events that we look to that bring joy to our souls, therefore we are reluctant to let them go. Whether the were sad or joyous moments, they are all in the past and if we let them, they can become stumbling blocks to our future. The past is the past and all we need it for is as reference, we cannot pitch our tent in the past. Most times, when people talk about being stuck in the past, they tend to only refer to unfortunate memories that stop people from moving forward, but we should not forget that past victories can be as dangerous as past failures. Any success is just a stepping stone to another level, but many camp there and forget that there is more to life than their last victory especially if they were greatly rewarded for that success. It is very important to note that focusing on the reward rather than on the impact makes a lot of people achieve far below their ability. We have to understand that financial reward are just an offshoot of success, it is not success. There many who are financially above normal levels, in any given society, who have not contributed anything that society needs to advance. However, it is difficult to see those have succeeded in advancing the human race who do not have financial rewards as the icing on the cake. Do not allow financial rewards and people's applause to keep you stuck in the moment and prevent you from going on to the next level. True success has no end, even after you leave the stage, it will still be a leverage for those coming behind. Any dream that dies with the visionary was never a real dream, it was just an avenue to make money. Have a beautiful week!
AFRICA IS A CONTINENT ON THE MOVE AND HER YOUTHS ARE HER GREATEST RESOURCE."We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can always build our youth for the future."Franklin D. Roosevelt. MentorAfrica looks to help youths, through various life transition mentoring topics, to prepare youths for development and leadership that will help them change the African narrative whenever the opportunity arises.
