
The interwoven nature of human
existence makes it difficult for a society to grow when most of its citizens
are selfishly pursuing their own agenda. Our gifts are given to us to
complement one another therefore, wherever this is missing, it becomes difficult
for there to be sustainable development. The issue of stewardship is a very
important point if we want to achieve much in our societies. When we do not
understand that we have to serve with our gifts, our view of life is so myopic
that we will choke everyone around us with our selfishness and greed and
eventually we will self-destruct. We have to learn to deploy our gifts in consonance
with others in order to reap the full benefits of individual labours. This kind
of selfish behavior is especially difficult when it originates from leadership.
Leadership that does not serve will result in all the untold hardship like is
going on in most African societies. We have to try and develop our gifts in
such a way that we will be able to harness the gifts of those around us with a
view of employing the corporate use of our collective gifts to make society a
better place. What we often see is the situation where everyone wants to use
their gifts to get undue advantage over others in order to stop them from
exploiting their own gifts so they can remain ignorant and dependent. The most
effective way to continually enslave people is to make it impossible for them
to recognize and develop their gifts in order deploy them to serve humanity. No
gift is can be fully maximised without the input from others. Let us try to
collaborate and make the best use of our gifts for the benefit of all and

La nature imbriquée de l'existence humaine rend difficile la croissance d'une société lorsque la plupart de ses citoyens poursuivent égoïstement leur propre programme. Nos dons nous sont donnés pour se compléter les uns les autres donc, partout où cela manque, il devient difficile qu'il y ait un développement durable. La question de l'intendance est un point très important si nous voulons accomplir beaucoup dans nos sociétés. Lorsque nous ne comprenons pas que nous devons servir avec nos dons, notre vision de la vie est si myope que nous étoufferons tout le monde autour de nous avec notre égoïsme et notre cupidité et finalement nous nous autodétruirons. Nous
devons apprendre à déployer nos dons en accord avec les autres afin de récolter tous les bénéfices des travaux individuels. Ce type de comportement égoïste est particulièrement difficile lorsqu'il provient du leadership. Un leadership qui ne sert pas entraînera toutes les difficultés indicibles comme se produisent dans la plupart des sociétés africaines. Nous devons essayer de développer nos dons de manière à pouvoir exploiter les dons de ceux qui nous entourent en vue d’employer l’usage collectif de nos dons collectifs pour rendre la société meilleure. Ce que nous voyons souvent, c'est la situation où tout le monde veut utiliser ses dons pour obtenir un avantage indu sur les autres afin de les empêcher d'exploiter leurs propres dons afin qu'ils puissent rester ignorants et dépendants. Le moyen le plus efficace d'asservir continuellement les gens est de leur empêcher de reconnaître et de développer leurs dons afin de les déployer au service de l'humanité. Aucun cadeau ne peut être pleinement maximisé sans la contribution des autres. Essayons de collaborer et d'utiliser au mieux nos dons pour le bien de tout le monde. Passez une journée très agréable!

should not just be to make a living and wealth but it should really be to make
our contributions to humanity because in so doing, most times, there are also
financial benefits that are attached for our own use. When the sole purpose of
developing your potentials is to make money, it will drive you to do untoward
things in order to achieve this very selfish purpose. However, when we
understand the reasons for our gifts, we will develop our skills with service
in mind and not with the sole aim of having a livelihood and all the luxury
trappings of life. Life is about being good stewards with what we have,
stewardship is a great virtue. Only those with this attitude of service can
become good leaders in whatever sphere of life they find themselves. The
knowledge of who you are and the gifts you have must be associated with how you
can make the society a better place. Without the mindset of stewardship, the
society will be in the chaotic state like we find in most societies where
development is slow because people are selfishly guarding whatever they have
and are even looking for how to take from others. This is a situation where it
doesn't matter who gets hurt so long as you are making money, all that matters
is your personal satisfaction. Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is the
more people you serve, the more satisfaction you get. There is nothing as
lonely and boring as making wealth for you, yourself and you.

to compete with
others, it makes life uninteresting. Many are frustrated today because they
want to be like others, they constantly are in competition. What we know but we
like to forget is the fact that we are all configured in a certain way, with
potentials that are for our benefits that would also enable us to make our
contributions to mankind. That is why it is impossible for two individuals to
have the same fingerprints even if they are Siamese twins. Your gifts are given
to complement those of others in such a way that we can help each other achieve
our optimum performance and give our ultimate best to humanity. However, a lot
of people believe that whatever gifts they have is to help them to either
compete with or exploit and oppress others, so whatever opportunity they have
to lead others is an opportunity for power play. Until we get a proper
understanding of the purpose of our gifts, we are going to abuse every
opportunity to serve other with our gifts. Your gifts should help you enjoy
living and make life better for others; that is the true joy of living. We are
stewards of all that we have and own, let us be good stewards of our lives and
enjoy the rewards of seeing others live a better life because of our
contributions.

loss is the other’s gain. We can’t talk about the role the citizen plays in
nation building without mentioning the fact that citizens need to see the
deficiencies in the part of leadership as their opportunity. They have to be
able to cease the opportunity from the misbehavior on the part of leaders in
order for them to show their own leadership skills wherever the opportunities
present themselves. Every citizen is a leader in one area or another and we
must do our best to make sure that all that is within our jurisdiction runs
smoothly before we criticize whatever is wrong in general leadership. In our
various circles of influence, no matter how small, we must enable people
understand why they should contribute to the smooth running of the system. We
can’t complain when we stand by and watch those who we can influence do
something wrong while we focus on what someone in leadership is not doing.
There are some citizens who even encourage wrong behavior from those in their
circle of influence as a way of getting back at government without realizing
the fact that the citizens usually bear the brunt of wrong decisions and actions
of those in leadership. As citizens we should do all within our power to make
sure that things benefit everybody, including holding our leaders accountable. Do

Dans nos différents cercles d'influence, aussi petits soient-ils, nous devons faire comprendre aux gens pourquoi ils doivent contribuer au bon fonctionnement du système. Nous ne pouvons pas nous plaindre lorsque nous restons à côté et que nous regardons ceux que nous pouvons influencer faire quelque chose de mal alors que nous nous concentrons sur ce qu’un dirigeant ne fait pas. Il y a des citoyens qui encouragent même les mauvais comportements de la part de ceux qui font partie de leur cercle d'influence comme moyen de revenir au gouvernement sans se rendre compte que les citoyens portent généralement le poids des mauvaises décisions et des mauvaises actions des dirigeants. En tant que citoyens, nous devons faire tout ce qui est en notre pouvoir pour nous assurer que les choses profitent à tout le monde, y compris en responsabilisant nos dirigeants.
