AFRICA IS A CONTINENT ON THE MOVE AND HER YOUTHS ARE HER GREATEST RESOURCE."We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can always build our youth for the future."Franklin D. Roosevelt. MentorAfrica looks to help youths, through various life transition mentoring topics, to prepare youths for development and leadership that will help them change the African narrative whenever the opportunity arises.

MAYBE YOU CAN - PEUT-ÊTRE TU LE PEUX
Why is always easier for people to believe that they cannot do something than it is for them to believe that they can? It almost as if the default response of many when they are confronted with life is to say that they can't. What I noticed is that those who dare are those who have something to fight for. When you meet people like that, their first response is that they can overcome even before they understand the full extent of the task. People call them daredevils not because they are special breed in the general sense but because they are too focused on what they want to achieve that it blinds them to anything that tries to stop them. Many of such people look back when they reach their goal and wonder what came over them that made them take kind of risk-filled route. If you look closely at anyone who always says "I can't", you will notice that what they are trying to do is convince themselves that they are not failing. Except it is a strong moral conviction not to do wrong, every other "I can't" is an admission to failure. Since people do not admit that they have failed or are failing, they would rather put up a defense to convince themselves and everyone else that the task is impossible. This happens often because people do not have any goal in view, so they throw in the towel quickly to avoid being seen as failures. Those who have a concrete goal would do what others consider crazy, spend as much time as it takes and bear whatever humiliation that comes with many failed attempts to get the job done. They refuse to bow to the prevailing "I can't" attitude. You are the only one who can decide whether it can be done or not because life will help you achieve whichever ever you decide. If you don't have a concrete goal, any other goal will be erased by the tides of life. Is your vision carved in stone or written in sand? Do have a beautiful day!

THIS BUMPY ROAD CALLED LIFE. - CETTE ROUTE CAHOTEUSE QU'ON APPELE LA VIE.
Most of us start life with plans of what we are going to do with our lives, at least we imagine what an ideal life would look like. You do not have to travel far for you to realise that life rarely goes according to plans no matter how well thought out they are. We do not stop traveling to a particular destination because we encounter rough patches along the road. It is only those who have no real reason to make that journey that turn back when they hit such places. Anyone with a serious agenda would find ways to navigate the road no matter how bumpy it gets. The adventure of life and the success of life come from our ability to find ways to make progress in spite of how rough it gets. It will surprise you how innovative you can become when you decide not to quit. In fact, living life to the full and making an impact by helping others undertake their own journeys can only come from deliberately choosing not to avoid the rough patches of life. I love to walk, especially in the mornings. It easier to walk on a smooth surface but if you want to tone your muscles, it better to walk on a rough road. The best results in life come from uncomfortable circumstances that we deliberately choose not to avoid. If you want an easy passage through life, you will miss out on the adventure and on contributing much to human existence. For those who want to make a difference, they would always choose something outside their comfort zone. Success is not for the fainthearted, it is for those who make a deliberate choice to walk on the bumpy road of life, confront the obstacles, do what others are afraid of and thoroughly enjoy the adventure. Everyone has to make that choice, what will yours be? Have a wonderful day!

YOU ARE NOT WATER. OR ARE YOU? - VOUS N'ETES PAS DE L'EAU. OU BIEN L'ETES-VOUS?
Water seeks the lowest level, the path of least resistance. Unfortunately, most people are like water, they look for the easy way out. The painful thing is that we have much more than we realize but we are too either easily contented or too easily frustrated. We miss out on so much that life has to offer. Everyone is waiting for everyone to do what everyone could do if they allowed themselves look beyond the horizon of limitations. It is amazing what we could do with the everyday human and natural resources we have around us if we were not constantly looking for alternatives or hoping that someone else would come up with an answer for us to enjoy. Many inventions have been delayed or completely thwarted because people sort alternatives too quickly. Unnecessary relocations have taken place and talents wasted because people were either too mentally lazy or too impatient to see the process of innovation through. They opted for alternatives before they could discover the breakthrough invention. Alternatives are the worst enemies of progress. Those who have done great things decided that there were no other alternatives and the universe opened up to them opportunities that we all enjoy today. Whenever you come across an obstacle, for those who have decided to break boundaries, ask yourself what you would do if there were no alternatives to your present situation and resources. Resourcefulness has always been the answer to every human need. #thinkdifferent and have a lovely day.
