PIVOTAL MOMENTS - MOMENTS PIVOTANTS

They say a pivotal point in our journey is knowing when to stop and when to dig our heels in. I transplanted a citrus tree at the same time I did other plants as I was restructuring my garden at the beginning of the year. Some of the plants took longer than others to come alive and grow. Since it was a very hot season I had to water the plants a lot in the mornings and the evenings. There were some that died completely by what we could see above the surface level and it took these ones longer to start growing new leaves. There were even some that began to grow at the point I had given up hope that they would.

This particular citrus tree still had not shown any signs of life and I was at a place where I was torn between giving up on it or trying some more. Many times the wisdom to make this choice is what stands between us and success. Many of us keep on spending our energies on what we should let go because of all that we have invested. At what point should we let go? This is an issue because of the slogan "winners do not quit" Do we continue flogging a dead horse just because winners don't quit? What do we do at a crossroad? There are times that we need to evaluate the situation honestly and have the courage to let go when we see that the road is taking us nowhere. Letting go does not always mean quitting, at times it means we are people of courage who are not afraid to admit that we have failed at a certain project. Failure is not an end, it is just an opportunity to understand that there are other ways of arriving at our destination. These are moments that if we can handle well can bring us to better quality results. When we understand the true nature of failure, we can conquer the fear of failure and embrace it as a learning curve which will help us know how to accomplish our dream in a better way.
