TOOL FOR SURVIVAL OR DEVELOPMENT - UN OUTIL DE SURVIE OU DE DEVELOPMENT

Africa has been informally branded as a consumer continent, even her natural resources have to be processed and sold  back to her for consumption. Unfortunately, it does not look like this phenomenon is going to be changing anytime soon. Which brings to mind the way the average african views life; others produce we are content to consume... That is why even our educational system is geared towards survival and not innovation or production. All we want is to make  money to get the basic things in life and if we are fortunate, progress to acquiring the luxuries of life. There is the very strong argument about our totally weak financial institutions when it comes to investment in innovation and entrepreneurship. Be that as it may, the average African, even those who can afford to send their children to developed nations for education, do so for the same commercial reasons. How can we live a good life with what others have sweated to produce for mankind? To make matters worse, we are now integrating or should I say, turning to foreign curricula to make us more marketable abroad. When we will we have Africans whose desire is to make an impact on the African continent in spite of the present realities? At times I wonder if the developed societies fell from the sky or they had to face huge challenges to get to where they are presently. Just wondering... Are we educating ourselves to continue to survive or are we working towards having some relevance in the global stage? Hollywood makes movies that provoke technology to catch up with them and we have seen it work many times; what is our media provoking....

L'Afrique a été informellement marquée comme un continent consommateur, même ses ressources naturelles doivent être traitées et vendues à elle pour la consommation. Malheureusement, ce phénomène n'a pas l'air de ce qui va bientot changer. Ce qui fait penser à la manière dont un Africain moyen aperçoit la vie; D'autres produisent, nous sommes contents de consommer ... C'est pourquoi même notre système éducatif est orienté vers la survie et non l'innovation ou la production. Tout ce que nous desirons est de gagner de l'argent pour obtenir des besoins essentiels de la vie et si nous sommes chanceux, nous progressons à l'acquisition des luxes de vie. Il ya l'argument très fort de nos institutions financières totalement faibles quand il s'agit d'investir dans l'innovation et l'entrepreneuriat. Quoi qu'il en soit, les Africains moyens, même ceux qui peuvent se permettre d'envoyer leurs enfants aux pays développés pour l'éducation, le font pour les mêmes raisons commerciales. Comment pouvons-nous vivre une bonne vie avec ce que d'autres ont transpiré pour produire pour l'humanité? Pour aggraver les choses, nous sommes maintenant intégrer ou devrais-je dire, nous tournons vers les programmes d'études étrangers pour nous rendre plus vendable à l'étranger. Quand aurons-nous des Africains dont le désir est d'avoir un impact sur le continent africain en dépit des réalités actuelles? Parfois, je me demande si les sociétés développées sont tombées du ciel ou qu'elles ont dû faire face aux énormes défis pour arriver là où elles se trouvent actuellement. Je me demande simplement ... Est-ce que nous desirons la formation pour continuer à survivre ou travaillons-nous pour avoir un certain mérite sur la scène mondiale? Hollywood fait des films qui provoquent la technologie pour les rattraper et nous l'avons vu exploité plusieurs fois; Qu'est ce que nos médias provoquent-ils ...?

IS AFRICA OVERPOPULATED? - L'AFRIQUE EST-ELLE TROP PEUPLÉE?

 L'Afrique est elle trop peuplée ? 
Sans entrer dans des débats de chiffres, je voudrais juste faire remarquer que j'ai toujours considéré qu'une famille de 27 enfants était trop nombreuse jusqu'au jour où j'ai réalisé que s'ils sont bien éduqués et formés , cela était de loin plus bénéfique pour le pays qu'une petite famille de 2 personnes pas formés du tout. 
Maintenant tout le problème réside dans le comment nous préparons notre jeunesse pour demain. 
Si nous nous en occupons pas comme c'est le cas actuellement, mieux vaut qu'elle soit petite. Mais si au contraire cette jeunesse est bien prise en compte, l'effet du nombre ne peut qu'être bénéfique.

Certains pays ont une population vieillissante, d'autres sont menacés par une explosion démographique, oui il y a des interactions permanentes entre les 
populations en constante évolution et les configurations géopolitiques, d’où la nécessité d’embrasser les problématiques dans leur globalité...
Et c'est pour cela qu'on ne peut pas juste se contenter de dire que l'augmentation exponentielle de la population africaine est une opportunité, il y aura malheureusement toutes les menaces s'y afférent. Un grand marché de consommation peut être en nombre, mais il faudrait déjà qu'ils aient du pouvoir d'achat. Sans création de valeur et de la richesse pour une réduction in fine de la pauvreté, cela va être impossible...

Ici se trouvent les contributions de deux de mes amis à un poste par un autre ami sur les dangers de ce que je peux appeler la procréation "stupide" des Africains. Ce qui m'intéresse cependant, c'est le fait qu'aider la prochaine génération à comprendre leur rôle dans le développement du continent est crucial. Ils doivent être éduqués d'une manière à ce qu'ils voient la destinée du continent entre leurs mains, ce qui est bien loin de ce que nous avons actuellement. La plupart d'entre nous éduquent maintenant nos enfants pour qu'ils puissent s'échapper aux dures réalités du continent, si le nombre que nous avons est peu ou beaucoup, nous devrions leur faire accepter leur responsabilité de faire passer le continent au niveau suivant.

Is Africa too crowded?

Without entering into any number discussions, I would like to point out that I always considered that a family of 27 children was too numerous until I realized that if they were well educated and trained, this will be far more beneficial for the country than a small family of 2 people not trained at all.

Now the whole problem lies in how we prepare our youth for tomorrow.

If we do not deal with it now, it's better if it's small. But if on the contrary this youth is well taken into account, the effect of the number can only be beneficial.

Populations in constant evolution and geopolitical configurations, hence the need to embrace the problems in their entirety ...

And that is why we can not just say that the exponential increase of the African population is an opportunity, there will unfortunately be all the threats related to it. There may be a large consumer market, but they should already have purchasing power. Without creating value and wealth for a final reduction of poverty, this is going to be impossible ...

This are the contributions of two of my friends to a post by another friend on the dangers of what I may call the "mindless" procreation by Africans. What interests me however is the fact that helping the next generation understand their role in the development of the continent is crucial. They must be educated in a way that they see the destiny of the continent in their hands which is a far cry from what we have presently. Most of us are now educating our children to be able to escape the harsh realities of the continent, so whether the number we have is few or many, we should make them come to terms with their responsibility towards taking the continent to the next level.

Almost everyone agrees that leadership is about service. At times it feels cliche to talk about servant-leaders, many do not really understand what this entails. I have seen many in my nation who we thought were driven by a desire to improve society only to see another side of them immediately an opportunity to came for them to walk their talk.
