No one can be in the value chain of life around them while living their lives by constantly imitating others. It will be rather profitable if they could just learn from others to enable them to create their own content. It is almost impossible for imitators to learn because when you are bent on imitating others, you close the door to your own innovation, creativity and excellence. By doing so, you rob the world of something only you were wired to do. To be a part of something progressive, we have to release ourselves from the shackles of wanting to be like others and then take our place and live a fulfilled life.

 It is good to be inspired by others, people can be driven to discover something that they would never have thought of just by seeing what somebody else has achieved. That is how far we should allow that to go. Creating a culture is achieved by helping others to see how far they can go if they understand the process themselves and push hard enough to get desired results. When the zeal to

accomplish what you have in your mind from studying yourself and the environment pushes you, it helps you to easily decide that you want to be a part of whatever will make society a better place for everyone. On the other hand, if we observe carefully, we will notice that people who imitate others are actually trying to be accepted by fitting into their environment. The need for acceptance will certainly supersede that of impact in such circumstances. People like that will lower their expectations to align with whatever is acceptable to the majority.

 Our environment has a way of sucking us in unless we have very strong convictions about what value we know we can bring to the table. As an African, this is a very familiar terrain because we have set very low ceilings for ourselves. We believe that being from a developing environment, any standard will be accepted. Therefore, mediocrity is allowed to reign because we are easily satisfied. We put in a little effort since we know that most times, no one will really take notice. Most of us want to live like the chameleon and blend in with our environment. We fail to realise that we too can set parameters by which people around us can live. If every one of us lived by excellent standards that we set for ourselves, it will influence others thereby creating a culture around us.

  Personne ne peut s'intégrer pleinement à la chaîne de valeur de la vie en passant son temps à imiter les autres. Il serait bien plus profitable d'apprendre d'eux pour créer son propre contenu. Il est presque impossible pour les imitateurs d'apprendre, car s'obstiner à imiter les autres, c'est se fermer à l'innovation, à la créativité et à l'excellence. Ce faisant, on prive le monde d'un talent unique. Pour participer à un mouvement progressiste, il faut se libérer du désir de ressembler aux autres, trouver sa place et vivre une vie épanouie.

S'inspirer des autres est une bonne chose ; observer les réussites d'autrui peut amener à découvrir des choses insoupçonnées. C'est dans cette perspective qu'il faut aller. Créer une culture, c'est aider les autres à comprendre leur propre potentiel s'ils comprennent le processus et persévèrent pour atteindre les résultats escomptés. Lorsque le zèle à réaliser ce que vous avez en tête grâce à l'étude de vous-même et de votre environnement vous anime, il vous aide à décider plus facilement de contribuer à une société meilleure pour tous. En revanche, si nous observons attentivement, nous constatons que les personnes qui imitent les autres cherchent en réalité à être acceptées en s'intégrant à leur environnement. Le besoin d'acceptation prime certainement sur celui d'avoir un impact, dans de telles circonstances. Ces personnes abaissent leurs attentes pour se conformer à ce qui est acceptable pour la majorité.

Notre environnement a la fâcheuse tendance à nous absorber, à moins que nous n'ayons des convictions très fortes quant à la valeur ajoutée que nous pouvons apporter. En tant qu'Africains, ce terrain nous est très familier, car nous nous fixons des objectifs très modestes. Nous pensons que, venant d'un environnement en développement, n'importe quel niveau sera accepté. Par conséquent, la médiocrité règne en maître car nous nous contentons de peu. Nous fournissons peu d'efforts, car nous savons que, la plupart du temps, personne ne le remarquera vraiment. La plupart d'entre nous souhaitent vivre comme un caméléon et se fondre dans le décor. Nous oublions souvent que nous pouvons, nous aussi, définir les limites de ce que vivent ceux qui nous entourent. Si chacun d'entre nous vivait selon les normes d'excellence qu'il s'est fixées, cela influencerait les autres et créerait ainsi une culture positive autour de nous.
