ARE YOU A TYRANT OR YOU ARE LEADER? - ÊTES-VOUS UN TYRAN OU VOUS ÊTES LEADER ?

 

I watch a lot of wildlife especially in the area where I now live. I wonder at the team formation of birds and insects because they are very well coordinated and what amazes me is that there does not seem to be any apparent difference between the one calling the shots and the others. What that tells me is that the only difference between a real leader and the led is the ability to give them a reason to follow them. This means building enough trust in their vision and the capacity to accomplish it in order to influence people to join them in that journey. Leadership is not just a portfolio, it is people building enough trust in you to stay under your direction and influence. Leaders that understand the weight of their role are there to translate a vision and serve people and a purpose. When the weight of what they are carrying is properly understood, they realise that without a team, that weight could crush them so they make it their mission to evenly distribute that weight. This action does not make them less, all it does is that it helps everyone on the team to realise that the end depends on what each person brings to the table. The respect for what everyone can contribute helps all those involved to respect what the leader and their vision is worth. The jostle for leadership is often as a result of the nomenclature and portfolio and not for the responsibilities.  When a leader does not understand their role from the onset, they then use forceful and unconventional tactics to bully the team into doing their bidding. The word “tyrant” was coined for a reason. Leading is not by force, it is a pleasurable thing to be able to form a respectable team around your vision, watch everyone grow and enjoy the journey as well as benefit from the results. J'observe beaucoup d'animaux sauvages surtout dans la région où je vis maintenant. Je m'interroge sur la formation de l'équipe d'oiseaux et d'insectes car ils sont très bien coordonnés et ce qui m'étonne c'est qu'il ne semble pas y avoir de différence apparente entre le leader et les autres. Ce que cela me dit, c'est que la seule différence entre un vrai leader et ceux qu'il dirige c'est la capacité de leur donner une raison de le suivre. Cela signifie construire une confiance suffisante dans sa vision et la capacité de la réaliser afin d'influencer les gens à lui joindre dans ce voyage. Le leadership n'est pas seulement un portefeuille, il s'agit des gens qui vous font suffisamment confiance pour rester sous votre direction et votre influence. Les leaders qui comprennent le poids de leur rôle sont là pour traduire une vision et servir les gens et un objectif. Lorsque le poids de ce qu'ils transportent est bien compris, ils se rendent compte que sans équipe, ce poids pourrait les écraser, alors ils se donnent pour mission de répartir uniformément ce poids. Cette action ne les rend pas moins, tout ce qu'elle fait, c'est qu'elle aide tout le monde dans l'équipe à se rendre compte que la fin dépend de ce que chacun apporte à la table. Le respect de ce que chacun peut apporter aide toutes les personnes impliquées à respecter ce que valent le leader et sa vision. La bousculade pour le leadership résulte souvent de la nomenclature et du portefeuille et non des responsabilités. Lorsqu'un leader ne comprend pas son rôle dès le début, il utilise alors des tactiques énergiques et non conventionnelles pour intimider l'équipe afin qu'elle obéisse à ses ordres. Le mot « tyran » a été inventé pour une raison. Diriger n'est pas par la force, c'est une chose agréable de pouvoir former une équipe respectable autour de votre vision, de voir tout le monde grandir et profiter du voyage ainsi que de bénéficier des résultats.
