We often talk about taking ownership of our vision but I recently got a new understanding of this principle. There are some who think that they are passionate about something because they are putting all their efforts in trying to achieve the best results. Many have no understanding of the fact that we can be passionate about something just because it is trending and there is a chance that we can make a name from it. Our hearts are not involved, but we are collaborating with a cause out of sympathy or out of some sense of responsibility. I have noticed a remarkable difference between those who are pursuing a vision who have high stakes in the end results and those who are doing it without any real benefits to their existence. For them, if it works fine, but if it doesn't, they would have tried their best. They have no real ownership of the situation, they just want to help. We must take ownership of every dream in such a way that we would feel personally responsible for the outcome. When we are not that invested, we will always have room for who to blame when something goes wrong. People who are not fully invested start with alternatives in mind because they are not wearing the shoes so they do not really feel the pinch. Are you fully invested in your pursuit or it is just something that you want to give a try? Enjoy your day!

MentorAfrica looks to help youths, through various life transition mentoring topics, to prepare youths for development and leadership that will help them change the African narrative whenever the opportunity arises.
