I sometimes watch fishermen either the ones who are in canoes with their nets or the ones with the fishing rod. Both categories strike me as very patient people. They spend time mostly in solitude trying to catch fish either for pleasure of home consumption or for business. What I admire the most is when they reel in their catch or when they pull in the net. Many times the reward is not commensurate with the hours and efforts spent but that doesn't deter from continuing until they get a good harvest. No matter how tired they get, they will reel in whatever they have caught and put away carefully before they continue. They will only throw it back into the water if of no nutritional or economic value. Many of us don't want to reel it in not because of no benefit but because it is not the kind of catch we expect. Life does not give us our expectations all at the same time, we need to learn to reel in whatever we get immediately we can feel it a the end of the rod. Our attitude should be like the fishermen see it first before you decide what to do. Some people lose their catch and go home empty handed because it is not what they envisioned and not because it has no value. Learn to celebrate each step you take towards your destination, that is what keeps you motivated, energised and driven until you get to the finish line. No matter what you get, reel it in. If it is not important for your journey throw it back and learn from the experience. If it can help you in any way, appreciate it, store it away and put back your rod for another catch. Success is a catalogue of little victories throughout life. Enjoy your day!
