SACRIFICE TO SIGNIFICANCE. - DU SACRIFICE À L'IMPORTANCE.

I watched the story of a young Egyptian salt artist and I was really impressed by his story. He said he saw the picture of salt art on the internet, he did not even know something like that existed and he was immediately drawn to it, but he thought it would be almost impossible for him to achieve what he considered a feat. Thankfully, after a while, he had a rethink and told himself that if anyone has done it, he too would be able to do it. Today, he is a self-taught salt artist that others are looking up to teach them. He says he is planning to start workshops and also hopes to have a gallery sometime in the future. Anytime I see African youths who take on challenges like these, I am ecstatic. I strongly believe that with more of these, the landscape of Africa will change pretty soon. Whenever you hear a success story, you must understand that that individual had to go from sacrifice to significance. Success is not success if it does not influence your generation for the better or if no one but yourself advances through your achievements; that is not real success. Many African youths want to take the shortcut to success and they think success is a lifestyle of luxury so they would rather spend their energies on fraudulent activities. Unless you are ready to go from sacrifice to significance, what you call success will eventually become your downfall. Life has a way of bringing everything full circle, what you achieve through the back door will make you crash from such a height that you will never be able to gather the pieces. Do not try to live life on the fast lane, live life on the smart lane where intelligence transforms work into pleasure. Do have a beautiful day!
