AFRICA IS A CONTINENT ON THE MOVE AND HER YOUTHS ARE HER GREATEST RESOURCE."We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can always build our youth for the future."Franklin D. Roosevelt. MentorAfrica looks to help youths, through various life transition mentoring topics, to prepare youths for development and leadership that will help them change the African narrative whenever the opportunity arises.

SMALL START. BIG PASSION. LASTING IMPACT. - MODESTE DÉBUT. GRANDE PASSION. IMPACT DURABLE.
A winning start does not mean a big start. Many who have had huge success and lasting impact started small, doing what others considered insignificant with a lot of passion, courage, commitment and determination. Stories abound of huge innovations today that were started without huge financial or human support, people did not even believe what they were attempting to do will ever come to light; from telephones to airplanes to Facebook and whatever else that have made overwhelming impact, started small and in obscurity. However, a lot of people are waiting until they can start big with huge financial assets, a robust human and enough moral support as well as a widespread network. They do not want to till the ground, they want to sow on a prepared farm. I have seen and heard of people who have had all the financial support to start a venture and failed. There is something about starting small that helps people to succeed better. It looks like passion is often fueled by challenges, they are the refining fire through which dreams pass for them to shine. When everything is in place, we tend to lose the steam that is necessary for us to make a lasting impact. Life becomes boring without the challenges that push us beyond our limits, our comfort zones do not bring out the best in us. Be excited about little beginnings, grow with your dream as you push boundaries and enlarge your coast enlarges, this will enable your very best to come out of you in order for you to leave behind a lasting legacy. What you need to have lasting success is huge passion not a big start. Have a great day!

AT LEAST...I TRIED! - AU MOINS...J'AI ESSAYÉ!
When we are confronted by unpleasant situations, most of us especially in Africa, always have excuses why we cannot do anything about them and these are genuine. However, like I have often said from my own experience, we will die regretting if we wait for the right conditions for us to do whatever we can to make the situation better, even if it is just to make it slightly better. There should be no feeling as good as putting in your best to make someone or something better even if your contribution does not completely accomplish the desired change. No effort is wasted, if the change does not occur physically, it will help to at least help change the perspective of people about it. Being an agent of change does not make you a magician, it just means that you can add value to situations in a way that can make the crooked paths become totally or partially straight. Many think that if you cannot effect immediate and complete change, you should not bother. The good news is that no one living under the sun has the power to effect that kind of change. The most important thing in life is to always live with the perspective that you have the ability to add value to anyone or any situation at any given time irrespective of our ever present human limitations. With that kind of attitude, you will always find opportunities where others are seeing only excuses. You do not have to wait for someone to play their part before you do something that you can about an issue, just do what you can and you will always look back no matter how it turns out and say "at least ...I tried". This the only way to avoid the regrets of "I should have", "I could have" and "I would have" Enjoy a great day!

GO ON...REGARDLESS. - CONTINUEZ... QUAND MEME.
If we wait for the right conditions to do something that will have some lasting impact, we will die full of regrets because those conditions will never come. Ask those who have done things that people admire and are benefiting from today and they will tell you they took on the challenges in spite of unfavourable conditions. You can complain all you want but at the end of your life you will regret not being able to go on regardless. Anyone who says he does not complain about all the rot in society, is a liar. However, there is a difference between those who complain and fold their hands to wait for the right systems to be put in place before they do what is within their power to do and those who complain and do what they can to make a difference. The societies that seem to have every system working today, started with the same chaotic conditions that we have around us presently. Some people decided to keep on painfully and patiently walking in the right direction and after a while, others started following. Sitting on the fence and pointing fingers everywhere will not get the job done. What is most effective and will give you some satisfaction at the end of your is the fact that you did your best and made your own contributions. The results of your little efforts might not be seen and applauded in your lifetime, but the seeds you sowed will surely germinate and bring a good harvest. Let us always behave like we are a two-edged sword; we see and talk about what is wrong then we rise up to see and do what we can about it. Have a great week!
