Never be afraid to raise
your voice for honesty, truth, compassion. We should be ready to speak against injustice, lying and
greed. If people all over the world would do this, it would change the earth.
Inasmuch as we raise our voices for honesty and what's true, the road should not end there. Let us take extra steps to do something that will impact our communities.
I know communities can't live on hope alone; hope is good but don't just talk hope, create hope through advocacy. Advocacy is one of the driving forces of conflict resolution.
Talk is good but cheap, with the current world conditions, advocacy goes the extra mile. Resolving conflicts and giving people for the future is not enough. We need to create activities that sustains that hope and the people can run with it for a better community.
Advocacy isn't just a job for the government alone but for companies and even private individuals. It's right to say that government does this through programs like skills acquisition, scholarships, free health care etc. but companies and especially private individuals should come in. They can afford and build more dreams and hopes with not just words but accompanied with structures put in area to develop the youths and individuals. Advocacy doesn't just give fish, it teaches individuals how to fish to eradicate poverty, stealing, conflicts from our communities.
Youths need models rather than critics, don't just criticize, stand up and take a stand. Advocate peace, honesty, the dignity of labour and love in your community and from there to the world at large. "Poverty is not only a lack of money, it's a lack of sense of meaning" - David Bornstein. Give your world a meaning by becoming an advocate of transformation for the present and future generations.
