I am a typical African and my culinary habits are steeped in my culture; we usually have one course meals. Even what is considered a side dish is eaten along side the main meal, we do not have staggered courses. This has affected my eating style no matter where I am, so I discover that most times, I ruin the main course because I eat the entrée as if it is the main dish. Consequently, by the time the main course comes, I am too full to enjoy the the main dish. We need to realise that the pursuit of success in life comes in stages. Do not allow the taste of initial success deprive you of fully expressing your talent, there is more in you than your first achievement. Many have stayed at this point to savour the beauty of it until it was too late to continue and fully expression of their dreams. When we see life as a continuum, it helps us to understand that every success is a stepping stone to another. Your impact is your success and until you leave this earth, they will always be opportunities for you to make a difference. If we understand this principle and allow it to guide us, no amount of success will get into our heads. Measure your success by your degree of impact not your life of luxury.
Je suis une Africaine typique et mes habitudes culinaires sont ancrées dans ma culture; notre repas consiste habituellement d'un plat. Même ce qui est considéré comme un plat d'accompagnement est mangé à côté du repas principal, nous n'avons pas de plats en quinconce. Cela a affecté mon style de manger peu importe où je suis, donc je découvre que la plupart du temps, je gâche le plat principal car je mange l'entrée comme si c'était le plat principal. Par conséquent, au moment où le plat principal vient, je suis trop plein d'en savourer. Nous devons réaliser que la poursuite du succès dans la vie se fait par étapes. Ne laissez pas le goût du succès initial vous priver d'exprimer pleinement votre talent, il y a plus en vous que votre première réalisation. Beaucoup sont restés à ce point pour en savourer la beauté jusqu'à ce qu'il soit trop tard pour continuer et exprimer pleinement leurs rêves. Quand nous voyons la vie comme un continuum, cela nous aide à comprendre que tout succès est un tremplin pour un autre. Votre impact est votre succès et jusqu'à ce que vous quittiez cette terre, vous auriez toujours des occasions pour faire la différence. Si nous comprenons ce principe et nous le permettons de nous guider, aucun succès ne nous parviendra dans la tête. Mesurez votre succès par votre degré d'impact et non votre vie de luxe.
