WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?

Have you noticed how draining it can be when you are talking to some people and how refreshing you feel when you finish having a conversation with others? What is the difference in these two conversational experiences? I am speaking for myself; I feel really drained when I have a conversation with someone whose communication skills are not sharp and that for me means a conversation that has an ambiguous thread. In this case I will have to filter through the ideas the person is trying to convey. Fascinating for me though is the fact that the problem, most times, is not with the subject matter but the manner in which the person is presenting it. In some cases the information is verbose while in other cases, the information is too scanty. At times the language is too informal or too formal, at other times; the language is too light or too scholarly etc.
For me to enjoy a conversation, I should have minimal stress in understanding the thread because the person communicating should:
  • Be clear on what he/she wants to pass across
  • Understand the environment in which the communication is taking place
  • Use appropriate language, not to impress but to properly articulate
  • Choose a subject that is of interest to both of us
I do not want complete this article or should I say I do not know how to complete it so, I need any inputs that can help me communicate this idea without allowing it to become a drain on those reading it.
THEY SAY CONTENT IS KING AND I SAY COMMUNICATING IT IS QUEEN
